My Vodafone registration

Tried to register but it says my number isn't a Vodafone number. I transferred my old number from TalkTalk. Should I use the temporary number?

Depending on when you transferred, it could be that the porting hasn't fully completed yet.  However, as this requires account access, your best bet is to contact the Social media team via Facebook or Twitter.   They'll be able to advise and also check the port status.

It would. I thnk, be better to register with your actual rather than temporary number, just in case the app doesn't update itself properly.

Thanks for the update, I'll wait a few days and try again. Not on social media.

It's possible that the normal Customer Service people can help if you need it, but most companies run a Social Media channel these days and it's worth signing up just for that.   Twitter is best if that's all you want and you can lock the account down to be completely private.

Tried again but still no good. Number was transferred on Monday so surely the transfer should be complete by now.

Someone suggested uninstalling the app and reloading. Now it won't even show the plan, it just says "We're sorry we can't find this information right now"

What a piece of junk!

It's possible the port isn't complete and Customer Services should be able to get that checked for you.   It may also be that you need to wait until the first bill is produced.

It may be that doing it with the temporary number would work, but I'm hesitating to recommend that in case it messes things up even more.   One thing you could try, if you haven't, is to turn the phone off and back on again to refresh it on the network and possibly pick up the correct number.

To add to what has already been written  @Roddersuk 

It would be worth checking your online account, the application is linked to the online account.  If your online account is correct the App will follow. 

 

Also clear your cookies and cache before log on, sometimes a cookie stops logging  on.

 

You can also go into the App and clear cache and data and try logging in using the same information as your online account. 

How do I check my online account if I can't register?

I've rebooted and reinstalled the app which should have cleared the cache and data but it's just made it worse.

It's very difficult to diagnose this without account access.   Try Customer Services on 191 or Live Chat initially.   If you don't get anywhere, I'd honestly recommend setting up a Twitter account and speaking to the Social Media team.   The big advantage of that is that you can simply give them a link to this thread (saves repeating yourself) and then leave them to go away and investigate.
