Need help with understand Vodafone's fair use policy for use abroad!!!

Hi all,

To the best of my understanding, I'm aware that Vodafone give a 25gb fair use policy for your data when you use your phone abroad, so if I have unlimited data to use in the UK, then I can use a maximum 25gb of that when I'm in Portugal for example.

Where does this leave me in terms of my minutes and my texts? Do I still have unlimited use of those? Or would there be a fair use policy with those as well? I've tried looking all over but I can't find information specific to my minutes and texts and I'm planning on going abroad in the next month or so, so any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you

Also, just as a quick addendum to my first question, if I were to stay in Portugal for more than 90 days (I may need to as I'll be staying with family) would I have exceeded that fair use policy? And if so how do I know how much I will be charged?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @A3Wxjx

Your right to want to knkw as much as possible so you don't end up with a bill you don't want.

Vodafone Customer Support on 191 or Live Chat can officially clarify.

Also the Vodafone Social Media Teams via Facebook Messenger or Twitter DM can clarify > Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries.

This is a PDF of Vodafones Acceptable Use Policy > Vodafone Acceptable Use Policy.

And these are the official links that hold all the information you need on roaming

It's only data where there is a 25GB monthly roaming cap @A3Wxjx , if you are going to be away for 90 days chances are the allowance would have rolled over.  You are in the fortunate position of staying with family and being able to use WiFi where possible.  As far as calls and texts are concerned there is no roaming FUP.

You don't mention the plan you are on, to avoid charges you need to be on a plan with 4 extra benefits or a plan taken out before 11th August 21.  See here: Roaming Charges

As you are going to be away for 90 days and staying with family, an option would be a local PAYG SIM.

edited to add:  Looking back on your previous threads, you enquired about a business plan, if you are on a business account, according to this link business roaming it looks like you will be charged £2.00 per day.  If that is correct, you would definitely save a lot of money using a local SIM card.

Thanks so much :Smiling:
