Hello all.
I recently bought an iPhone13 from curries.co.uk and it arrived safely and i also signed up for a sim only plan through curries with Vodafone. Ive put the SIM in the phone however its been stuck on no service for quite a while now. When i signed up through curries i requested my number be moved as well (giffgaff pay and go) to the new sim and supplied the PAC code during registration via curries.
Either way, my old phone still works so the number hasnt been moved as of yet, but no service on my iphone is what is more concerning right now. Any ideas how to fix this?
Solved! Go to best answer.

Hi @peve
You are porting into Vodafone from Giffgaff, until your number is ported over you won't be able to access Vodafone on your new phone. As you have gone through a third party it can sometimes take a little longer than going direct through the network, as soon as Vodafone have the information from the third party it can take 24 hours for the number to port. Vodafone will update you with text notifications when the porting is completed, when the number ports usually a quick turn off and back on does the trick for the new SIM.
It would be worth mentioning that numbers do not port over a weekend on any network, and since it is Friday, the porting process may not start until Monday or Tuesday. In the meantime, as you rightly mention, you still have service from Giffgaff on your old phone.
If you have any questions, you will need to go back to the point of sale, Currys/Carphone will be able to confirm the information has been forwarded onto Vodafone to activate the airtime. You will probably be on an Evo contract here: Evo
Further information here. What happens on the day my number ports?

Hello @peve
When did you request the port from your old network to Vodafone ?
Did they give you a date this port would happen ?
This official Vodafone support page should help you > What-happens-on-the-day-my-number-moves-to-Vodafone.
Going from past threads on the forum you'll probably find this self resolves.
As soon as the Pac you acquired from Three was given to Vodafone Customer Services this would have started the porting over process.
If you need further official help from Vodafone as a new customer then Live Chat or the Vodafone Social Media Teams via Facebook messenger or Twitter DM will help you.
Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries.
Vodafone can also be contacted via phone on 191 from a working Vodafone phone or 0333304191 from another phone.
They'll look after you.
I wish you all the best with this situation.

Thanks for the replys guys.
I wasnt given a date for the port but I ordered the phone on Thursday and received it on Friday. The curries website just asks you when signing up if you want to bring your number and you enter the PAC code during the purchase process. Its still no service as of this morning. The only thing ive received was a pre contract information .pdf.

Yes @peve
Until your number ports over you as you won't yet be on Vodafone, Customer Services or the Social Team won't be able to help.
As you ordered on Thursday, as mentioned the PAC won't be actioned now until the next working day on Monday, and should complete the next working day.
As you have receive the pdf, you can be quite sure everything is progressing as it should be and the link I attached will explain the procedure.
