Phone bill written off

Phone contract cancelled as phone was stolen in 2017 dd cancelled from Vodafone, unaware of this… balance was then written off 

 

today I’ve been told it’s re instated which is affecting my house buying process

Even though you lost the phone @Nickcoleman with it being an airtime contract the SIM can be used in any phone and you would still have needed to pay the monthly or termination charges for ending the agreement early. If there was still money owing you would have received some communication from Vodafone.  It's a shame you didn't notice the direct debit not coming out of your bank.

 

The best thing to do here is to let the Social Team have a look at the account, at least they will be able to let you know the status and advise accordingly.  The Team can be contacted through social channels here: Contact Us

When Vodafone told you it's been reinstated today what did they say when you explained what you've written in your post here @Nickcoleman 

I would suggest to raise a complaint via the following link > Complaints/code-of-practice. 

Although the Vodafone Social Media Teams are part of the customer relations team I find it better to create a paper trail.

Vodafone will then provide a complaint handler.
