Porting problem

I have just moved my number over to Vodafone. I can call and text from my new handset which shows my ported number however if anyone calls me it goes to my old handset with my previous provider. So I can’t receive calls on Vodafone. It’s almost as if it’s only half worded. Any ideas?

Hi @Pitcaig 

 

First please try a soft reboot by turning the phone off and on.

If that does not help then speak with customer services on 191, Live Chat or the Vodafone Social Media Teams via Facebook messenger or Twitter DM and tell them you thi k you may have a Split Port.

Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries. 

The Vodafone Social Media Teams can then involve their Porting In Teams.

Thanks for your reply. I’ve turned it off and on countless times. Spoke to 191 who did something at her end and she was able to call me so thought it was working but no one else can call. It’s not even ringing on my old provider number now. It’s ringing out to the caller then going to answer machine but not ringing on any devices. It’s also affecting my iMessage as it’s not letting me apply my number so they’re not getting through either. I can still call out and text 😩

 tried phoning 191 back and when I entered my mobile number it said it wasn’t recognised.

So it does sound like they port has moved slightly on now that the number is no longer ringing through to your previous provider, but still sounds like that not all the porting in files have fully settled.

If keying in your mobile number when ringing 191 isn't still working then ignore the prompts to key in your number and the ivr should change to ask you to press 1 for Payg or 2 for pay monthly after ignoring the prompt a few times.

The Vodafone Social Media Teams via the route I mentioned in my first reply can also help by asking their porting in Teams to help.

Hopefully the files will settle asap so you can start using your Vodafone services @Pitcaig
