Retrieve an old mobile number

Hi Vodafone,

I had a company mobile number roughly from 2001 to about 2010. The number was with Vodafone.,

I would like to see if possible to get back..

I have rang customer services on several occasions over the years and usually the response finally comes back as 'It is not possible to retrieve'

Vodafone please put your best brains on this one and see if possible to get me back this number. Like i say i had the number for 10 years so would be great to have back also the number is not in use.

Let's  get some understanding here  @ssander   you had a company phone with a number registered  to the company where you were employed, the number was returned to your employer and now 12 plus years later you have decided you would like  the number. 

You have been provided with the correct information, after 12 years the number could be anywhere and impossible to locate.

You say the number is not in use.

What happens when you try to ring the number ? Is it a dead tone ?

The problem is going to be where to find the number is now.

It may still not be with Vodafone i.e another network.

If it's still with Vodafone and quarantined then the frontline agents may not have the remit to spend time and resources on locating and reassign the number. The other issue is that if you wasn't the account holder i.e it belonged to the company you worked for then it wasn't your number originally so have no claim to it.

Have you looked on places like ebay etc to see if it's on there awaiting to be purchased  ? Long shot but worth a punt.

Other than that unfortunately I feel you'll be hard pressed to get Vodafone to source the number.

The last resort would be to put this in writing and see if that bears fruits > Here.
