Sim Card not Active after 24 hours

Hi all. Got my mum a new vodafone contract last week and her sim came Monday. Put in several phones but no signal or service? Her number ports from EE on Friday (12th). Have they changed the process where the sim is issued with a temporary number and is working straight away. Ive been back and forth to vodafone myself several times in the past 3 or 4 years and always worked with a temp number before my number ported over.

Yes @kieronmeadows the SIM will activate when the port is completed on Friday.

Just the Vodafone @kieronmeadows . It can sometimes help the port to go through quicker if the phone is off. Vodafone will send a text notification when completed. Usually a quick turn off and back on does the trick.

Does she need to have both phones (Old EE also) on or just her new Vodafone sim?
