Verification Codes not received.

I changed to Vodafone last week , all went well until I realised that I was not getting verification codes from various sites that required two step verification. I was able to check with someone who tried to send me a message and received notification that my number was unavailable or switched off. My wife’s phone on the same account works perfectly. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium.
