failed credit check but took £49

i applied for a phone contract and was told there would be no payment took intill order was successfully completed i failed credit chexk and it came up no money was taken but yet they did take £49 from my bank i want it back ASAP OR IM TAKIN this further absolutely shocking il send proof if i have too !!!

The money won't have been debited from your bank @lauracee88 .  It's held as a pending payment, Vodafone the merchant, won't claim the money and it will be returned to your full balance within a few days.

edited to add:  You will be able to see the pending transactions on your online banking, the ringfenced transactions will be listed separately, banks usually hold these for around 5 working days before being returned to the full balance.

hi it was deducted from my balance and showed on pending also but i got it back late last night thanks

@lauracee88 have a word with your Bank Cuatomer Services and they'll advise officially about the taken funds. 

If they have taken the money and not gated the amount off then explain to the bank and they'll return the funds to your account.
