I have been trying to unlock my phone to use with another SIM Network. I have entered various codes PuK, NUC etc, having read other posts it appears i need a Master Code for my handset from Vodafone. How do i get this as no one appears to know what a master Code is?
Many thanks

Depending on the make of your phone these threads discuss master codes with some master codes also shared in them @Dutchy1
If they are no good then don't please try your unlocking code too many times which will hardlock the phone so it'll then need to be sent away for its counter to be reset.
Instead phone 191 or use Live Chat and ask the agent to esculate this to the Nuc Unlocking Department and they can also give you the direct email address for Nuc Unlocking too for help.
Or let the Vodafone Social Media Team here catch up with your thread and they'll help.
The actual manufacturer might be also able to help with a mastercode although they can't help with the actual unlocking of a branded phone.
I wish you all the best with this situation.

It's disappointing to hear you're having problems getting your phone unlocked @Dutchy1.
As @BandOfBrothers advised, try not to enter the code too many times as this may hardlock the handset. So we can escalate this to our Specialist NUC team, I've sent you a private message with details on how to get in touch.
Hi,
I have been trying to unlock my phone to use with another network SIM for the past three weeks.
I have been given a NUK & PUK but neither work.
My query was escalated to the NU Resolutions Team and I was told it would take 10 days to get the code I required. I finally felt I was getting somewhere.
10 days have now passed and I received an email from the team yesterday saying they are still waiting for a code from Samsung.
I am desperate for my phone as I care for my 93 year old aunt and when I am working it’s the only way I can be contacted if she is taken ill or has a fall.
I therefore phoned Samsung last night to see how long it normally takes them to reply to Vodafone and was told it is not a phone lock number but a Network master code which is needed and this is obtained from Vodafone!! They said they get these requests all the time from Vodafone and they have no way of giving these codes as it is a network issue.
When I call or use online chat at Vodafone no one seems to know what I’m talking about and keep trying to give me the NUK!
Please can someone help me?? I just need to speak to someone at Vodafone who has been properly trained and knows exactly what I require.
Thank you……………
@Debs12 I'm sorry to hear you're having problems unlocking your phone. I understand how frustrating this must have been for you and we'll be happy to take a closer look.
I've sent you a private message with details on how to get in touch with our team. We'll then ensure your phone is unlocked as quickly as possible.
I'm experiencing exactly the same issues. Seem to be going round in a loop being given the NUC code or being told to contact the sim provider. The sim card works fine in another phone so definitely not an issue with the sim. Help!
@greeneyesfee - It’s not good to hear you’re going around in circles, trying to get the correct type of code to get your phone unlocked. We can help to get this sorted. Please send us your details by following the instructions in this private message.
Hi I have same problem with Samsung Note 8. Emailed nuc resolutions but just get automated response about NUC. I have NUC but require master code first. I just want to make sure that vodafone are directing my query to the right place. Email ref.[#19933829].
Can you assure me a master code will be provided?
Thanks
I'm having same issue here with my s8 , keep going in circles and it seems that the support team don't know the answer, they keep giving me puk code for the sim card rather then finding out what I need. Samsung said is network lock and is nothing they can do to help. Looks like it Vodafone does this on purpose so people can't leave the network.
Spoken to about 5 different people at Vodafone and they say be assured we will sort this out then 30 mins later they say they have to transfer to another department who deals with this.
Any help on this would be much appreciated..
Hello. I am getting his same issue Samsung S7 edge . I've spoken to several people at Vodaphone on chat and they are treating me like I'm stupid.
Can someone please help me resolve 😞

Been trying for couple weeks now and even went to Vodafone shop, told them no one believes me they loughed out loud, they even contacted vodafone and explained but they couldn't get it and they admitted they don't know what is required to be unlocked. They even swapped my sim card to see if thats the issue as the said never seen this before. Samsung saying is Vodafone network lock and they cannot help. Vodafone said have contacted Samsung to see if there is a way to unlock . Now waiting for Vodafone to resolve . Will post here any outcome.
Im feeling equally frustrated.. Vodafone staff need their training updated ASAP.
I've reached the point where if I don't get a reply bybtomorrow I will pay online for the Master (unfreeze) code myself. You can do this on eBay but really - we shouldn't have to 😞
@Mr_Flibble I can see you're in contact with our team, I can assure you we'll follow everything through to ensure your phone is unlocked.
@JessT @rhoti If you haven't contacted our team already, please get in touch using the link in my private message. We certainly wouldn't expected or recommend using a third party to unlock the phone and we'd be able to raise this request for you.
Same issue with me - vodafone don't seem to understand i need a master code from samsung. So frustrating. Did you get a resolve?

Not yet, will update once I get a reply.
After 3 failed conversations with Vodafone I had already got my master code from elsewhere (had already got it before Vodafone responded to me here unfortunately.
Good news is - it worked!
I confirm that the Master code - also known as an MSK code or an Unfreeze code is what you need.
You input it first then it says "network unlock failed" THEN you enter the network unlock (NUK) code.
So ask Voda for the MSK / Master / Unfreeze code!
Good luck everyone!
Hi Everyone
Sorry I meant to write sooner but I have been working away and just not had time.
However, just to let you know that I did eventually get a master code from Vodafone and was successfully able to transfer to another service provider.
It was so frustrating and took nearly 4 weeks to get the correct number but please don't give up or pay out for third parties as Vodafone can get these numbers for you.
I just kept sending emails to the NU Resolutions team, phoning and talking to the Online Support team every day and eventually it did come through.....
Hope you all get your master codes soon.
Good luck!
Debs
Thanks so much for your reply - sounds like there might be light at the end of the tunnel!!! Waiting 4 weeks is unacceptable...i wish vodafone would get their act together.
I'm in a similar circle trying to get my security updates to my Galaxy S8. Last one was on Feb 2018. And Vodafone sends me to Samsung. And Samsung sends me to Vodafone. And as a result I don't receive any updates. Such a shame. More over, Vodafone customer service treats me as if I am an idiot saying me how to check for updates. Settings/........, aaarrrgggg.. No more Vodafone for me.
