Figured I’d start a thread on this as I’m sure I’m not the only one anxiously waiting to find out if I’ll receive my iPhone 14 Pro Max on Friday!
Has anyone else pre ordered? What have you gone for? I ordered the 14 Pro Max in Silver 128GB on preorder day - fingers crossed for Friday delivery but I’ve heard nothing yet.

Received my iPhone on the 16th as promised... 6 hours after I received it I got a text message apologising for the delay in sending out my phone and they will keep me updated... doh! already got it!!!

Hey, when did you preorder out of curiosity, I ordered Tuesday just gone and was guaranteed for first day delivery and now mine is saying 3-4 weeks!

Hey,
I pre-ordered on 09/09/2022 at around 3PM after multiple failed attempts on the website.
Where are you seeing that delivery estimate? the first sign that mine had been dispatched was multiple emails today confirming by tariff had changed along with my direct debit confirmation, followed by an update on the Vodafone Order Tracker/DPD notification.
Hopefully it won't be too long before you receive yours - don't think I can go through the stress of not knowing with the preorder again next year 🤣 this is the first year I've preordered for release day, normally I order on the release day so that I know what's actually in stock, but that's pretty much impossible with the plus models (as I found last year!)

So I ordered mine (pro max128) on release day, the 9th. Went the whole hog and ordered a Watch 8 GPS and Cellular too. I've got an existing contract or two so this was an upgrade and I was a bit miffed to find that Vodafone had done three hard searches on me when it says existing monthly contract holders don't need to be checked. However, too late to alter that. Soon received various emails, one of which clearly stated what I had agreed to and signed up for and how much deposit I had paid. It went on to confirm delivery would be on the 16th between 8 and 6. On Sunday, reading another forum, I learned that the 128 pro max cant take 4k video. Nowhere on the Vodafone site does it say this, so I called customer service and explained this and said I'd like to change to a 256 model. Apparently this couldn't be done without cancelling the entire order and starting again from scratch, which would have entailed another three hard searches. So I reluctantly left the order as it was.
By Thursday, noting the comments of the original poster on this thread, my order still showed as not dispatched, and sure enough, didn't turn up on Friday as promised. I called customer service again and after 38 minutes of being given the run-around I was told that my order was complete, ready to go and DPD had forgotten to collect it! As if. So now the earliest I can possibly expect it would be the following Wednesday, assuming "DPD remember to collect it on Tuesday". My options at this point were to cancel the order entirely or just sit and wait. The three hard searches would and could not be removed from my credit history regardless of which route I took.
The final straw was just a few minutes ago when I received a text from Vodafone saying that there will be "a delay to my Apple Watch delivery". No indication as to when, or if, I might receive it.
So as I stand here in London in a very, very long queue to pay my respects, I realise that I won't be able to take pictures of one of the most significant weekends that most of us can have experienced in our lifetime on my shiny new phone, as I had hoped.
I can only assume that Vodafone have taken orders and deposits, signed contracts, promised delivery and failed to deliver because they didn't have stock, which is grossly misleading, like their advertising. I would also venture to suggest that Vodafone would be aware that by the time people had paid deposits, been credit searched and signed contracts it would be too much trouble for them to buy elsewhere, in the further knowledge that all available stock elsewhere would have been snapped up by then anyway.
i've been a loyal Vodafone customer since they were Racal-Vodac but I'm sorry to say that I bitterly regret ordering from them this time as I have been met with lies, failed promises and appalling customer service throughout.
p.s. Moved 20 paces in the time it took to write this. Long night ahead, methinks!!

Sorry to hear you haven’t received yours yet.
Having previously worked for an Apple reseller, the way all network providers and retailers in general handle iPhone launch pre-orders is generally pretty poor - I’m saying this having received my iPhone on launch day - my point is that network providers and retailers always advertise “Delivery on the XX” (usually launch day), when realistically, at the point of accepting pre orders, they have no idea if they’ll have stock.
The other thing that’s really annoying, is despite the above, the week before the launch, they’ll likely receive stock at the warehouse prior to launch, and they should at least let people know if they have enough to go round, at least by the day prior to launch.
As a whole, this issue definitely isn’t specific to Vodafone and it happens every year.
