Hi. After waiting for a Miui upgrade for over a year Vodafone has rolled one out today. I've done the upgrade and I am unable to enable my SIM card and hence unable to make calls. Any ideas? TIA

Hi everyone, thanks so much for flagging and rest assured this is something we've been working on with the manufacturer to get you all connected to what you love again.

To keep you all updated, Xiaomi have advised that a patch is going through final testing through their side and we're looking to verify this from our side today.

All going well, this patch should be with you over the next few days, by next week at the very latest.

Please don't try any troubleshooting steps such as a factory reset or arranging a repair of the phone as once the software is out, this will resolve things for you.

Once we have confirmation that the fix is working and when it can be released, we'll let you know ASAP here.

So here is the latest from my side:

I am currently on version 11.0.4.0 which made absolutely no difference in getting me back up on to the Vodafone network.

After getting absolutely no results from getting in touch with Vodafone customer service representatives and Xiaomi, I have sent out an email to the CEO last evening and got a standard response that they will get in touch. Let's see what comes out of it. I am honestly tired of following up and am appalled by the poor service provided by Vodafone. Will keep you posted on the progress.

I'm on 11.0.1.0. I've always had "Receive updates early" on.

I also cannot download latest package.

Starting to wonder if this will ever be fixed

I am currently in a chat with Vodafone technical support. They don't seem to have clue about the problem and are still trying to get me to try the new SIM I have in a different phone which I can't because I don't have one. I have just accused them of burying their head in the sand and the person I am having the chat with had just said he will check with someone and disappeared for 5 mins. He had just told me to update software. I have told him I have repeatedly done that and it still says no updates available MIUI version 11.0.1.0 stable. and yes I have enabled early updates. He has now disappeared again saying he will try to resolve my query

They are insisting I do a factory reset which I am loathe to do as others have said it has not resolved the issue. I have just challenge them as to why some people have received update 11.0.4.0 not that it has worked but my phone won't even update to that.

Meanwhile the thread is still marked as "solved" !

I eventually gave in and did a factory reset. Initially it looked like it had not solved it but after going through all the set up the system updated to MIUI 1.0.4.0 and at the moment all seems to be working

Mine is 11.0.4. don't know if that is the new update or not.

I will probably give MIUI 12 a go - it doesnt seem available for my handset yet - when it comes out but my confidence in Vodafone is gone. 11 months and I will take my money elsewhere. I have an unreliable phone now that occasionally looses access point settings and has terrible battery life. Thanks Vodafone. Never again.
