Samsung Z flip 4 phone calling issue

Hello, so I've just got the Samsung Zflip4 5g, but for some reason it's hit and miss if when I ring someone it actually connects. I rang up Vodafone, I followed their troubleshooting guide and it seemed to work for a bit, now it's playing up again(!) I don't feel confident taking the phone out with me, if I can't ring out and it's an emergency then that's that. The 5g aspect isn't an issue apparently, they say the SIM card is OK, I've only had the phone 4 days, it's a nice phone but i don't know what else to do now... help?

Is it a new contract or upgrade you've just carried out @MrMan12345  ?

I ask as sometimes it can be the sim card playing up or the area your in.

If you commute around away from your home area does the issue still exist ?

As a process of elimination can you try your sim card in another phone  ?

And if possible another sim card in your phone  ?

This is a good way of troubleshooting the phone , sim and account.

The phone has a diagnostic tool in your Samsung Members app.

Also you can go into Settings, General Management and Reset then reset network connection.

Do try switching to lte/4g via Settings,  Connections, Mobile Networks and tap on the network name and choose 4G just to test.

Vodafone have a troubleshooting guide snd template here > Network-issues-initial-checks-and-template.

Vodafone customer services via 191 , Live Chat or the Vodafone Social Media Teams via Facebook Messenger or Twitter DM can double check your account > Contact-us-for-account-specific-queries.

A Samsung Service Centre can take a look at the phone.

Hopefully this is a glitch and things settle down for you.

In the interim do look at Vodafone Wi-Fi calling > wi-fi-calling.

Vodafone provide a  cooling off period to have the phone swapped out too.

If I can be of any further help then please don't hesitate. Take care.  😎

Brand new contract, I have my Samsung s20 that the sim card was in, it was never an issue when it was in that handset, I have the 2g/3g/4g auto connect option selected and the power saving is on to force it to not choose to 5g or scan for it.

Thank you for your reply @MrMan12345  👍

As you've chosen the connection option for 4G /3G and 2G your phone won't seek out 5G.

It'll only do that if you choose an option with 5G connection in it.

Therefore having power saving activated for that shouldn't be necessary.

That said if you did have 5G option selected in the Connections Settings then activating the Samsung Power Saving Mode does indeed turn Off 5G 👌

So putting your current sim card in your previous Samsung Galaxy s²⁰ phone right now means calls are fine ?
