Hi,
After checking my credit file I have noticed that Vodafone has added an account under my name. I personally do not have any credit with vodafone.
My Ex Wife has an accout with them which makes me think they have made a mistake and it has landed on my file. What makes me think this is that on the accout it shows me as Mrs (I am Mr).
It alos shows my other names as her name on my account.
How do I contact vodafone to change this to the correct details as it is affecting my credit score.
I do not wish to call the contact centre as I don't believe they would understand the problem.
Thanks,
Aiden

When your wife at the time applied for the contract with Vodafone is it possible the Credit Check which is required for a new contract was performed using your details ? Did you sign anything if this was taken out in store. Is it possible your details were used if taken out online.
On checking your Credit File apart from the Default was there any search performed.
Usually Vodafone would try to make contact with the account holder to secure payment for a bill before sometimes also engaging a Debt Collection Agency. They don't have to advise the account holder they are adding a default.
Contacting the Callcentre on Vodafone Landline Tel :03333040191 is the best way although they would only discuss this with the account holder.
When using the Vodafone Landline number key in your Vodafone mobile number after prompted OR if issues exist where the IVR System will not recognise the mobile number then you can opt to ignore the initial prompts to type in the mobile number, and then on approx the 4th request it should then change to ask to input 1 for Payg or 2 for Contract Customers.
General enquiries: Monday to Sunday 8am – 9pm
In the interim You could contact http://www.experian.co.uk and ask for a Notice of Correction to be applied. They'll also help and advise on what they can do if the default has indeed been applied to the wrong persons credit file.
It is Free to add the Notice of Correction. This gives you the tools to add your own notes up to 200 words on your Credit File to explain why the Default is showing.
It would only be worth adding this if you think the default is wrong and shouldn't have been applied.
Please take into consideration that a Default will only be removed if it was reported on your Credit File incorrectly.
The Vodafone Community forum is monitored by Vodafone U.K. There are members of the Vodafone Tech Team who are available to respond and Help where they can. They have the Vodafone logo next to their name so a person knows they are officially Vodafone.
All posts are read by them.
Hang in there and I'm sure they'll be in touch.
They will be able to advise and guide you but again if you are not the account holder they maybe hindered by that fact.
