Cancelling my contract

Hi how do I cancel my contract as I'm paying for a service which I'm not getting?

My phone keeps crashing, freezing and the GPS never works and now my phone is not being supported anymore I have put up with all the carrying on for long enough now.

I have tried on live chat for help but go nowhere and for being a loyal customer (10+ years) I was offered a massive £55 off the upgrade.

Hi @RAYVONWILKO

You can cancel your contract at any time by calling Customer Services or using live chat.  However, your contract is airtime only, with being able to use the SIM in any phone, this means paying off any remaining time left on the contract.

If you have a faulty phone, you need to follow the repair process.  If you take the phone into a Vodafone Store, they will be able to advise the best way to get the phone repaired.

What phone do you have ?

If you place your SIM card in another phone is everything ok.

Sometimes phones can glitch due to the onboard storage getting full or redundant files have accumulated from software updates.

Backing up and factory resetting can help.

A phone supplied by Vodafone also has a 24 month manufacturing warranty. Issues caused by accidental drops or water damage aren’t covered.

You could sell the phone and use the funds to buy another or check what your early upgrade date is.

What im trying to say is there are other options other than cancelling your contract.

It is a Lumia 950 and it's constantly crashing the GPS never works on it for maps, I have to have a sure signal plugged in at home to get and signal.

Hi @RAYVONWILKO

With the phone being released almost two years ago, you should be in a good position to upgrade to a new phone with improved specifications.

The problem with having to use a Sure Signal at your home address, may be down to network in the area and it may idea to put the postcode in the coverage checker at the top of the page.  If you give an example of the network coverage and copy and paste the results back, it would help the Team to check for any faults in the area, this can be done by following the link below.

Network Issues

Connection issues can very often be solved with a new SIM card available from a Vodafone Store and this may be something to consider.

All I want to do is swap to a new phone but they want over £500! to do so. I guess being a loyal customer means nothing these days.

And I have been over the coverage checker with them it's saying I should be getting 4G but I only get that in the middle of town.

Over £500 for the phone ?

Which make and model are you wanting to choose ?

What contract are you On?

Over £500 for the early upgrade I want to swap over the Galaxy S8, my upgrade isn't due until Jun next year.

Places like Game or CEX sell unwanted phones and unwanted upgrades too.

I have looked at that Vodafone have offered me a massive £55! for the phone, I have now towards the £500 to get out of the contract. At the end of the day, I'm paying for a product that isn't fit for purpose I'm on live chat with them now been passed around to 5 different people up to now. If I could afford it I would just pay it and move to a different provider. Sky have a brilliant deal on for the S8+ £27.00month plus extras because they look after their customers.
