VF routeer - very poor and can't use one of my own... very short sighted by vodafone.... not asking for support to do it... just the basic settings almost every other isp gives out.

It a hot topic that's been discussed a few times on the forum in regards to the specific settings. 

Vodafone at present are certainly hesitant to provide these.

I had a quick google for the settings, I can't find any for the UK but there are these for Ireland. 

I guess changing vodafone @ vodafone.ie to vodafone @ vodafone.co.uk might work (there are no spaces in the Username but the forum software won't accept  email addresses)

I'm not sure if the DNS setting will work, but you could try 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to use google DNS

If you spoke directly with the handful of people who have been given their PPoE username/password you'd be able to work out the correct format and probably be able to work out your username. I'm guessing the password would be more difficult.

With Sky, you can use the second port to "sniff" traffic - that is how their users first got around the restriction. Alas not an option with the Vodafone router.

I don't know if you can do this on  a  Vodafone modem/router  and your old router but try these steps 

1)  turn off wireless on the Vodafone 

2) turn on the dmz and point it to a ip address e.g. 192.168.1.2 on the Vodafone router. 

I guess the Vodafone router might not allow this though. 

3) On the old router set the wan port to the ip address of the dmz in step 2

4)  set the lan side ip range to 10.x.x.x or 172.16.x.x were the x s are values of your choice 

Depending how much you know about setting up lans a quick Google around the subject might help.  🙂
