This is my third time trying to cancel an account I no longer use, it can't be done any way except by phone or chat and both have such long waiting times I gave up the other two times....currently 30 mins waiting for a chat transfer after going thru security. I'm guessing the first thing I will have to do if I ever get thu to the cancellations team is go thru the same info again. Has anyone ever called customer services/online chat and NOT experienced high call volumes? And I bet if I simply cancel my direct debit they'll call me quickly enough..

It can I agree take sometime to get through to people on most Callcentres. Trying early in the morning is my suggestion.
Regarding your DD.
I understsnd you venting at the situation and assume your aware of the ramifications of stopping your payments via DD and won't.
