I took out a contract with Vodafone in September 2015. I had numerous complaints with Vodafone (seemingly given the wrong bundle) and after many complaints I was upgraded to the correcr one in July 2016.
As my contract was 24 months I was expecting it to be completed in September 2017 and was looking to leave. However I have just checked my Vodafone and it seems that my contract end date is now July 2018, 24 months from when the upgrade was made! Vodafone did not inform me of this situation when the upgrade was made and it seems what was the resolution of a complaint has locked my contract for a further 10 months?
I feel this is really unfair; they have used my complaint as a way to extract more money. It shouldn't be classed as an upgrade, they were simply correcting the fact that the contract was set up incorrectly in the first place. I was actually missing out on the bundle I was paying for for the first 10 months of the contract!!!

My own experience when upgrading is you'd get a paper copy (if done, for example, in store) or an email confirmation if you've upgraded online / via My Vodafone. This way you know you're starting a new contract commitment from a specific date.
Do you have a record of your previous conversations with Vodafone, in particular the interaction when you think this upgrade took place? Also was it definately the complaints team you spoke to, or was it the upgrades team on 191?
My advice would be to pull all of this information together, document it in a timeline and email it through on the official complaints form, here.
