Hi,
i am currently coming to the end of my 12 month pay monthly sim only,
the agreement ends on the 3rd November 17,
i have already got a deal elsewhere,
i have contacted Vodafone via telephone to request my pac codes to move my numbers to the new provider on the 3rd November,
I have read somewhere that getting my pac code and using it will terminate my contract without the need for 30 days notice,
the advisor on the phone told me when I use my pac code then it generates 30 days notice,
i understood using the pac would not require me to give 30 days notice,
now im going to be billed another full month and not even using the service
can anyone advise as it’s like talking to a brick wall with the advisors on the phone
thank you

In the case of a Pac Code it has to be used within 30 days by giving it to another network as close to your contract end date as possible.
Once the alternative network uses that Pac Code this automatically cancels your Vodafone Contract straight away.
Vodafone will send you a final bill in approx 2 weeks.
Do not cancel your Direct Debit until this has been paid and any relevant refunds given followed by a Sorry your Leaving letter and a £0 bill.
If your phone is locked to Vodafone then you can unlock it free of charge. See the Unlocking Nuc link in the Quick Links at the side of the forum page.

Yes, the telephone advisors are yet again talking twaddle as their managers seem to encourage them to. As the others have said, using your PAC code causes your contract to be terminated immediately (because there is no longer a number to associate it with.) Forget/ignore all references to "30 days notice." Do remember though that a PAC code is only valid for 30 days from the date it is issued to you, after that it won't work and you'll have to request another. As Bandofbrothers said, do not cancel your direct debit until you get a bill showing you owe £0.00 - and be sure to keep tht bill, since it is proof that your account has been paid up and closed.

Thanks for the replies,
been with Vodafone for 7 years and had no problems with 4 lines,
then they started taking more money than they should and upping the bills,
asked for a decent renewal deal on all 4 lines and told the price is what it is,
so I got a deal with all 4 lines with sky that makes Vodafone’s deal look silly,
but thanks for the replies,
adviser was pretty adamant about the notice,
I’ll be giving the pac to sky on the 3rd when my Voda commitment ends
thanks again

Also suggest you download all your past bills as once you numbers have been ported, you will not be able to access them.
