I have a Vodafone USB mobile broadband dongle, which up till now has worked fine.....

I have tried to run the VMC LITE program from 'My Computer' and keep getting the following error...

Component 'MSCOMCTL.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

...and then the process ends, hence why i'm using a wireless point to send this message.

what got me is that it was working fine this morning...

Like i said this is the first time an error like this has happened, and i'm hopefull you guys at Vodafone can sort this for me..... Please guys HELP..

Uninstall and reinstall the application, that will register ll the components again and should sort your problem out. I assume you are using Windows, go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and remove the Vodafone Mobile Connect software, then plug your USB dongle in and reinstall it.

I thought of that but i dont really want to lose the bar chart showing my usage to date, is it worth searching and downloading the file and saving on my hard drive ???

Annoyingly i had to uninstall and re-install VMC LITE as i couldn't change/repair the original install, cos thesame error kept coming....

All sorted now but disappointed that i dont know how much usage i got left.
apart from that all good.

At least it is working again, that's the main thing. Perhaps the administrators may have something they can check to give you an idea of the amount of data you have used.

Hi matheu00,

I'm glad you were able to get back up and running anyway.

With regards to checking your usage, you can always get an idea of this from signing up to Online Billing with our My Account service :)
