Hi peeps, I have S8 on a preorder and was wondering how good Vodafone actually is with fullfilling preorders. Promise of "get it 8 days early"(I know it's just a marketing spin) means it should be here on the 20th. Who else is waiting for a delivery?

Wait and see is not good enough really, is it?!
Vodafone shouldn't be making commitments to customers then lying to them...

Personally, I'm not too bothered if it does or doesn't come tomorrow... If it does great, if not, oh well. It'll come eventually.
With such a big launch, you can't expect a company to assure every single customer will get what they want. You also can't expect every person to be on the same level from twitter to this forum as each situation is different for each person.
There's plenty of T&Cs to allow them to make adjustments to stock and, as mentioned in other threads, there's no assurance you will get your device 8 days early. I was told that by my rep. There are NO PROMISES.
I understand people's hype, waiting on new phones etc but they will come. :smileyhappy:

Most of us will be giving Vodafone over the life of a contract £1000+ .
Part of that deal we all agreed with Vodafone was how much we as consumers were going to pay in return for a certain level of service and a delivery date of goods i.e. handset 20th April then calls, data and text every month.
Who cares what the size of the launch is. Going off past experience, knowingly going into a contract with customers on the very thing you are using to market the device and service to gain a competitive advantage but cannot be met is immoral and unethical.
No where else is that acceptable not even on an American airliner....

Who cares what the size of the launch is? When it's one of the most popular phones in the world with pre-orders going through the roof, do you REALLY expect a company to fufill every customers needs to a tea?
I've been with Vodafone for 7 years now and yes, at times it's been shaky but they've come round hence my commitment to them as a company.
The fact is we are the vocal minority. There are many others who have bought their phones and no no troubles getting it tomorrow or having problems.
The more we shout, scream, demand, we were told that there were no promises according to stock and that's it.
And to add to your previous point, morals and ethics are subjective. More often than not, different companies, like people have different standards.
Using that arguement for a PHONE COMPANY isn't a rational argument. :smileyhappy:
PS. Sorry I'm not on the "Where's my phone" circlejerk. Trying to play Devils Advocate.

I understand this is a different story some things are similar
I upgraded 2 months ago to an s7 edge and I was watching the tracker every couple of hours.
But I never moved from stage 2
Even when my phone arrived on time it was still on stage 2
Even 2 weeks after having and using my phone it was still at stage 2
IT could of been the phone I was using to track or some other factor maybe cause I had a little trouble getting the upgrade through I don't know.
But my phone arrived when they said it would
I hope you all get your phone on time and from what I've been reading.
You have got something special coming
Good luck

it's a bit different in my situation as I've been using a courtesy phone since 14/03/17...5 full weeks, waiting for my new handset as replacement phone offered by repair centre wasn't even close in specs to the handset sent out for repair. That's why it's so frustrating.
I've had an email as well, delivery scheduled for the 20th....I don't mind getting it friday or saturday.
