Every day I'm having the same dilemma. To order from CPW and get a bloat free handset for £50 upfront with £50 cashback and £34/month or to wait it out in hope VF will offer this phone directly (with VF bloat). I've asked until when the £50 cashback offer will last and was told the offers change evert week. decisions decisions....

@burso83, I know what you mean, although I didn't know the handset would be bloatware free from CPW, is it not locked to a network either? I assumed whichever network I picked would still include their bloat, so that's quite cool to know. Let me know what you decide, my mind definitely is still divided!

Let's just throw something else into the mix. HTC have just announced the S9 for Europe. That's a further expansion of the product range. Is it at all possible that Vodafone are sitting on their hands while the whole thing pans out (after all, it's not absolutely clear how the S9 fits with the A9 at the moment). It's also worth pointing out that the 10 is still in pre-order, so not actually in the shops yet.

i had a chat with the upgrades team today asking about the htc 10. now although he didnt have a acual answer for me he didnt see any reason why it wouldnt be avaliable on release(9 may according to him). he did metion that some retailers may have exclusive pre order deals with htc that vf havent got.makes some sense to me so think i shall be waiting a couple of weeks to see if anything happens upon its offical release

EE started taking pre orders and introduced possibly the most expensive and cost inefficient plans I have ever seen. My ideal plan with unlimited minutes texts and 2GB data through CPW with VF is £50 upfront and £34/month (£866 in 2 years) whereas with EE is £79.99 upfront and £45.99/month (£1,183 in 2 years). Cheapest monthly plan offered with HTC 10 is comes at £59.99 upfront and £43.49/month and comes with only 500MB which is a joke. I can see everyone who can use a calculator going through CPW with other providers. Even Three offers cheaper deals. I know, it's about network coverage too. but I cannot image by how much could EE be to pay a premium of over £300 to go with them.

CPW is certainly a good deal, plus that £50 upfront is countered by £50 cashback, so it would just be £34/month (£816 total), BUT that is not a renewal deal so to renew you're looking at £99 upfront (£49 after cashback) and again £34/month (£865 total). If you don't mind shifting your number then there are better direct deals available online (mobiles.co.uk @ £794 total), but again you'd lose the number.
That's frustrating as the vodafone store have already confirmed that the renewal direct with them would be the same as any new contract offered, but they won't stock the HTC10.
My only wonder in all of this is whether the direct retentions team have access to different handsets than the stores? They certainly used to, but I'm going back to a previous renewal I wanted to make a LONG time ago! From what I can find out, the stores (and direct online) will not be offering the HTC 10. Decisions, decisions!

Hmm. My previous post was accepted and then disappeared. Very strange.
CPW renewal deal is £99 upfront and £34/month but comes with £50 cashback making a total £865. There are cheaper options on new contracts out there (below £800 total), but you'd lose the number.
I wonder if the retentions team have access to different handsets that the stores or direct online. They certainly used to, but that was years ago! The store I went into told me that they'd never sold a HTC handset since they'd been open and that they think that was the reason that the new HTC 10 wasn't being picked up by Vodafone. I supposed there's logic in there somwhere if HTC as a brand wasn't that good a seller for Vodafone.

@LordLanky definitely check out the CPW deals,I'm still a bit hesitant to go with them and will most likely to wait until after the 6th - 9th May and if VF will not make an announcement until then I'll go elsewhere.
bizzare was correct, the £50 upfront with £34 a month with 2GB data is for new customers only, for upgrades it is £99 upfront with £34 a month, for pre orders you get a £50 cashback. I don't quite understand why existing customers have to pay more upfront. I guess their strategy is focuesd on getting new clients rather than retaining existing ones.
