Hi dhee,
Welcome to the eForumYopu're on the right track so you just need the mobile number attached to that SIM card you have. There's a really easy way to check this. If you have a spare mobile phone simply insert the Vodafone SIM and dial the number *#100# from your phone. This will make a request to the Vodafone network and come back with the mobile phone number for your Mobile Broadband - it's a handy number to keep a record of too

I'll admit that you're not the first person I've heard who's been having difficulties getting their lenovo laptop activated. According to our internal system the number that you've called is the correct number, this should get you through to our sales team who will be able to create an account for you.
I'd recommend giving this number another try, if you experience difficulties then please let me know as I'm going to escalate this as there's a possibility that the activation process may have changed.

Happy New Year
The phone number wont show on the SIM card itself, but if you can place the SIM card into a Mobile phone and dial *#100#. This will show you the phone number it uses.
All the mobile broadband SIM cards needs a phone number so it can pick up a signal enabling it to get access onto the internet

Hello Martin,
the way you suggest does not work at all! when I switch on my mobile after placing the SIM card in it, I got this message: "SIM card error, contact SIM card privider", if I dial *#100#, then I got "command error", I think this SIM card only works on notebook, my Thinkpad can read the information from the SIM card like card identification No., sim identification No. and subscriber identification No., but no mobile No. if what you said is correct, the Vodafone SIM card installed on my Lenovo notebook is useless? and it's just waste of time to try activating it.
