How to add a user to Sure Signal

Hi all,

 

Does anyone know how to add a user to Sure Signal using the new 2016 layout? I have been previously added to the list of users using the dashboard but can't connect to Sure Signal even though I haven't changed my number nor my SIM card. Also as well as the layout of the dashboard changing I have changed my phone to the new iPhone SE, could there be anything on there that could be preventing my phone from connecting to Sure Signal? My SIM card is part of a SIM only plan.

@RocknRollTim You can manage people that use your Sure Signal via your My Vodafone account. 

 

In relation to your Sure Signal not connecting with your phone, please take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread, and then post back your results if you’re not directed to an existing thread?

Thank you for responding to my forum thread, I have searched my Vodafone account for settings to manage people to use our Sure Signal but still can't find a logical way to do this like before with the old layout.
 
With regards to Sure Signal not connecting with my phone I'll consult the troubleshooting page when I have a few minutes.
 
Lastly does Sure Signal use peoples' numbers as well as the IDs of their SIM cards or does it just use peoples' numbers when connecting to Sure Signal?

Hi RockandRollTim,

I must admit that finding the Sure Signal dashboard isn't in the most logical place, but here is a walk through ...... 

 

After obtaining the 6 digit security code and entering it, you should have the 'Account Summary' page. At the bottom of the 'Account Summary' panel, opposite your telephone number, click the 'See usage details' tab.

This will take you to a list of options, click the 'Manage services' tab, this should display another list of options which includes the 'Sure Signal' option where you will find the Sure Signal dashboard for all the Sure signal user settings.

If that doesn't work , the best option would be to contact live help

Hi Mike,

Thank you for responding to my forum thread too, I'll have another look at the Sure Signal user settings when I have a moment but when I last looked I could only find one person in the user list which was the account holder and no one else and the option to add another user wasn't there either, is anyone else experiencing this issue? Lastly thank you for your walkthrough you posted above.

@RocknRollTim Were you able to have another attempt at adding a new user to your Sure Signal, via the information @cineriv gave? 

The Sure Signal initially requires the mobile number to start and then whilst activating, it will locate the assosiated SIM number. 

Check this quick troubleshooting page for more information. 

@Rahim I wasn't able to have another attempt at adding a new user to the Sure Signal via the information @cineriv gave as I was only at the family friend's place for a couple of days and decided to leave this for another time for when I return, I'll leave this thread open for the timebeing as the family friend said they were getting a new phone and asked them to keep me posted as to whether it connects to the Sure Signal in order to eliminate a possibility. Lastly thanks for helping me both @Rahim and @cineriv and will update this thread when I have some information.

@Rahim Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but I have managed to locate where to add a new user using the Sure Signal dashboard at the family friend's place today, the functionality was under his wife's number and not under his number as expected as he is the bill payer, it only came to him when his wife started receiving text notifications recently for when the next bill was due, however when removing and adding my number from the list I'm still receiving no text notifcation in order to use their Sure Signal box, we read up in numerous places on the Internet that it can take up to 24 hours for the number to be added to the Sure Signal box, would you say this could possibly be the case? I thought that it might be a possible conflict with my old handset which I've still got and could possibly have the number in its memory still and/or registered with the account of the phone, I was thinking of resetting it to see whether that works, would what you advise?
