Huawei P10 MMS Problem

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hey guys,

I have a Huawei P10 which I am trying I am unable to send or recieve MMS on. I spoke with Tech Support who told me the device was fault and I should go back and get it swapped (which I have done). I am still unable to send MMS from the new handset when  I am on 4G. If I lock the phone to 3G messages go through fine but when on 4G it says sending failed.

Any clues? APN settings are present and correct.

Hi,

I agree if your able to send / receive mms on 3G then your Apn Settings should be right.

It maybe that 4G isn't strong enough but 3G is where you live ? Check via > Here. Unless this is happening everywhere you go.

Also double checking any relevant settings in your phone.

Can you try your Sim Card in another phone as a process of elimination to rule out the phone or sim card that may be at fault. Try another Sim in your phone. If necessary any Vodafone Shop can replace the Sim Card via a Sim Swap.

Can you open this Vodafone Link and post your answers back here.

Hey BandofBrothers,

I've got 4G+ at work full signal with about 120mbs down so it's not the network. This issue is at work and at home which are a fair distance apart!

Tried in my iPhone and Pixel and MMS is fine, it's just the P10 when I'm connected to 4G.

Hey,

I've not used the phone myself but could there be any relevant settings in the phone hindering mms.

I agree your account  looks to be provisioned for mms as it's working fine on other phones.

It maybe beneficial to engsge engage with the manufacturer too.

As 4G is a data service only, I'm wondering whether this is what's stopping MMS?   I believe they don't work over wifi, for the same reason.   Then the question is whether 4G is over-riding 2/3G, or whether that signal is too weak for the service to operate?   Have you tried in different locations to test the relative signal strengths?

Yep - I've tried in Essex, Central London and Staffordshire and the fault is the same.

I think I might approach Huawei and see what they say.

In this case, please contact the manufacturer directly for further advice and information.

Thanks,

The only thing I can see in apn settings that might affect it is the bearer which has unspecified ticked instead of 3G and the other various options.
