Back to going straight to voicemail!!
It was ok for the first 48 hours after being reset but now is missing calls again. I am going back to Apple as it is still under warranty. This will be my third phone.

Penny,
does that not say that it is more than likely NOT an apple issue.....

Hi MotoGT
I put it down to the handset because my son has my old iphone 4 without any problems on vodafone at this address. My sister lives 4 doors away also with an iphone 4 without issues and my other son has iphone 5s. My phone was fine until about October time, difficult to pinpoint a time as I was unaware of missing calls as no missed call was displayed. It seems to have coincided with the ios 7 update. My phone was changed in Dec, ok until middle of Jan, new sim last week and still the problems are there. If anything they are getting worse, on a daily basis and even after a reset they come back quickly.
As you mention the 2g updating itself does not seem to take place automatically which is should do apparently?
Mine did change yesterday which was unexpected.
Apple have asked me to check with vodafone that there aren't any issues with the network and monitor my phone for 48 hours, they said for them to do a 'stress test'? All vodafone have done is reset everything and looked at my sim updates and talked me through changing the settings on my phone.
Could there be a problem with iphone 5 software not updating after the ios7 update? The phone is discontinued now so they may not look into the problem.
It is extremely frustrating as my phone can not be relied upon, it is hopeless as a phone!

Chances are you've got an immediate divert on there.
Dial ##002#
then dial 1211

Hi JoelClarke,
Thanks for your tip but it is not an automatic divert, this has been checked.
It has gone to voicemail since 0750 this morning...I can reset it but wanted to ring vodafone whilst the problem is there for them to see but unfortunately their system is down and they cannot retrieve my history.

Hi Minibelle,
Yes, thanks for that. I have been talked through forcing the update with vodafone and yes it does reset the date. But it doesnt last and I shouldnt have to do this to keep my phone operating...Is this a vodafone or Apple problem?

Hi Penny,
I don't know of any of my mates on any other network with this problem... So if there is an issue it would appear to me that it is vodafones...
as I said earlier me and my wife, both with iphones 5's and my mother with a crappy old phone have the issue.

If you search Google you'll see los of reports of this across multiple networks and different countries.

Just googling about and found this...
Hi
I had this issue with iPhone 5 also. Rebboted, restored as backup, then as new iphone, replaced SIM card, replaced phone. No luck. But when I was at Apple store, guy helping me said if it happens with new phone, call ATT back, and ask them to reprovision the phone. For some reason, the network might still think I am using iPhone 4S, which was my previous phone. Bingo, not one issue since I had ATT do that.
Hope this helps.
Now I am certainly in this position, I upgraded form a 4s, however it was a cross network upgrade and I ported the number.... So not sure if this would help at all.
