Internet Hanging Up

I have a Mac Book Air and when I connect to the internet or if I am downloading or surfing the web I will get the following message

"The modem has unexpectedely hung up. Please verify your settings and try again"

So the internet is not connected and will not work on both XP and MAC

I have been using my modem for about 12 months with no such issue the modem I am using is E172

Hi Vodaclifton,

How often does this problem occur? You say you've had the modem for 12 months with no previous problems? When did this first start happening, and how frequent is it?

Windows XP should give you a more specific error message too, so when testing on XP please let us know what the error code you get is.
