Mobile Disconnected because someone at Vodafone felt like it!

After 3+ weeks of repeated Vodafone mistakes etc someone has gone ahead & disconnected my mobile number. Now for the best part, it's going to take anywhere up to 3 days or more for the relevant department to have a go at reconnecting my mobile number etc.

Mysteriously there's no trace or any record of who did this disconnection or why which is exactly the same old story I was being told when I was getting emails & texts from Vodafone saying my address had been changed on my account & my online username & password had been changed thus locking me out of my own account.

Fraud have "supposedly" looked into this but Insist everything's fine. Well it looks anything but fine now my mobile has been disconnected. Who is this mysterious person who's intent on screwing up my Vodafone account & mobile service?

Vodafone, If you want me to leave then that would suit me down to the ground, I've had a complete gutsful. Supply me with my PAC Code & compensation for the continual service failures & now a complete loss of service & I'll gladly go to another service provider who can manage to provide a service!

It's a breach of contract, simple as that.

Write to their complaints team, not customer service.

If they don't resolve this in a satisfactory way, write to the Ombudsman.

The Ombudsman will most likely rule in your favour, and possibly compensation too.

It's a shame you've felt compelled to switch networks.

I assume Bt which utilises the EE network provides good signal where you live, work and commute. Don't go by online checkers.

Take care.

I did the same thing, moved all my additional lines over to BT Mobile as you can't knock their SIM only deals (especially when they have their flash sales on). So far, so good. Although did have one less than impressive live chat with them but still five star service compared to my recent Vodafone live chat but there you go.

My only line remaining with Vodafone is in term till May (on a discounted sim only deal). My most recent nightmare had left me with the firm resolve that I was leaving however after a couple of months (and a million - ok slight exageration - emails to their CEO), they have sorted it so I'm actually going to leave the contract to run its course.

In the meantime, I did order myself a £20 sim card from BT with unlimited talk, text and 30GB of data which I am going to leave running (stuck it in the iPad for now) so I can port onto it in May. So please do come back and report on how they treat you as I don't want to jump from the flying pan into the fire.

Till May though (or the next blip in my Vodafone experience), I'm going to stay where I am. To keep things positive, I can't knock Vodafone for the free EU roaming they have on the price plans currently (I have the 4GB allowance abroad) and also they have now finally resolved my issues it seems which is great.

Good luck with BT Mobile

I found Vodafone Live Chat to be nightmare. According to them, my line was only reconnected (after Vodafone disconnected it for no reason) in order to supply me with a PAC Code.

That's news to me, especially seeing as my line was reconnected a couple of days before I even asked for my PAC Code.

Before all of the disconnected saga took place, I used Live Chat to cancel an order that Vodafone had created wrongly. The user which I was dealing with was very helpful. They cancelled the order, nothing had been dispatched & all was well. 4 days later I get the message from DPD that my Vodafone order is out for delivery that day!

After that, Live Chat put it in writing that they can honour the Black Friday Offer that was on. Great, apart from nobody at Vodafone no matter who you speak to would honour the Black Friday Offer. I even had Customer Relations phoning me. They slyly tried to make out that as a gesture of goodwill, they were waving the £70 upfront fee for the Samsung Galaxy S7. I could tell by his voice & tone that he was hiding something. I asked him if this will be at the Black Friday Offer monthly price plan of £24 a month. Nope, as he went above & beyond by waiving the £70 upfront fee (his words, not mine as they waived the £70 when I placed the order originally) it's going to be £42 a month. I even offered to pay the upfront fee if it meant I'd get the £24 a month price plan. Nope, they can't offer that!

I've dealt with a few people from Customer Relations & the only time they were of any use was the last time they rang. After all the 20+ hours spent either on the phone or Live Chat to Vodafone & getting absolutely nowhere it's time to go. I already had my PAC Code so whilst Customer Relations were on the phone, I requested the PAC Code for my other Vodafone pay monthly account.

I'm pretty much certain that Vodafone Live Chat just tell you what you want to hear & move onto the next person waiting. Customer Relations I found to be hopeless also, unless your requesting your PAC Code.

I know plenty of people on BT Mobile. One of the bonuses is double fast 4G in the UK. You can also set a spend limit on your account so it never goes above whatever you set it too unless you change it.

If you manage to catch BT Mobile when they've got offers on you can't go wrong. They had a New Years sale. 20% of BT Mobile Sim Only deals. They also have offers with the choice of an iTunes or Amazon UK gift card.

A friend just took out the £8 a month Sim Only deal & once connected & the 14 day cooling off period has finished, she submits a claim for a £60 Gift Card. That's seven & a half months line rental refunded as a Gift Card.

Thanks for reminding me about the GiftCard @Welshman1982 - just filled out the claim form.

@Rahim - thanks for your message. Rest assured that as you guys have now sorted out my issues that I'll see out my contract till May.

When I ordered the BT Mobile sim for my line, it was going to be ported onto right here, right now. But that's no more. It can sit in the iPad for now and I'll use the 30GB of data on there.

So I'm not quite gone yet 🙂
