I'm a new customer using iOS10 and the app doesn't work for me either. Spoken to people in Store and on Live Chat and they said to uninstall, restart phone, remove SIM card and then put back in and reinstall the app over 4G. done that all several times and hasn't helped.
I ported my old number pretty much as soon as I signed up with Vodafone last month,.

Can I also receive a private mesage to get this sorted? I'm also running Android 7.0 on a Nexus 6P - it's driving me crazy that this isn't working. I'm still getting the same technical issues message which is a blatant lie.

myvodafone app. stopped working over a week ago after working fine. On advice from Vodafone shop unistalled and re-installed app several times but still no joy. All very frustrating as very useful app.
