My data issue

The problem started around a month ago once my contract/tariff was upgraded. The problem does not occur in only one location, it occurs everywhere. I am yet to try my current sim on another phone. I currently have 3GB of data and I can turn mobile data but when I go to load any social media such as Twitter, Instagram or even google maps nothing will load, even after countless attempts. I have tried to use different types of data such as 2G, 3G and 4G but it occurs on all forms. The problem occurs all the time, everywhere. Help...

Hi,

 

As this happens everywhere that for me would rule out mast issues. 

 

Best to try your Sim Card in another phone as a process of elimination to rule out the phone or sim card that may be at fault.

 

Try another Sim in your phone.

 

If necessary any Vodafone Shop can replace the Sim Card via a Sim Swap.

The first thing to look at will be the data bars through your online account. If you go to your account setting, bars, there is a bar to restrict all data access.  You also need to check the data monitoring application on your phone, if the application is set to turn off data when a limit has been reached, your phone will not allow you to use any further data.

 

If there are no restrictions in place, a new SIM card may solve the problem.

 

There is a self help link below, it might be an idea to complete and copy the paste the network issue template on the thread.  This will give an example of the problem and something for Vodafone to work on.

If no data bars are turned on in your online myvodafone try phoning customer service on 191 or use Live Chat to have your account checked. 

 

Look at your Apn settings.

If all looks ok then yes a sim swap can help. any Vodafone store can do this for you.

How old is the SIM?  It may be an idea to have it replaced as faulty SIM cards or even an aging SIM card can cause all sorts of issues.

If the SIM doesn't work correctly in another phone, this suggests the problem is with the SIM or account. 

Please head through to Live Chat to check you don't have any bars on the account - link here.

If this doesn't help then I suggest ordering a new SIM through the website / Live Chat or head into a Vodafone store.
