Hi duracell07

Thanks for the post and welcome to Vodafone eForum :)

I've also had a look on the coverage map at the postcode you've given us.

On mine too, it shows that there should be a 3G signal in that area.

Has the signal always been this bad since you moved in or has it gone downhill over the past few days?

Are there any large structures or new constructions going up in the area that could be blocking the signal?

Do you know if there's anyone else in the same area who's got the same issue?

Also which modem model is it you're using?

I'm sure with a bit more information we can get to the bottom of for you.

Thanks

MattyD

Iv only lived here 4 days so i wouldn't know how it was before. but no, there's no large buildings or constructions going on nearby. my phone on orange has no problem picking up their 3g signal so i don't think anything interfering, and it's the same problem all day, never gets better or worse.

Hi duracell07

It's a shame to hear your still having problems with your 3G connection. :(

I've had another look at out Coverage Map and with the postcode you've provided it does suggest that you should have really strong 3G connection.

There's a few things I would like you to try if you can to help get more information.

  • Can you try your SIM from the dongle in a handset to see if you get 3G signal?
  • Try your modem in another part of your house, does the signal or speed improve at all?
  • Also where the dongle is currently located, can you use a cable to extend the device a bit further away from your computer?

The answers to this should help to identify where the problem lies, whether its the device, the SIM or the Network itself. If it's the SIM we can organise a replacement for you, and if it's the device we can get this fixed under the Warranty Repair process. :)

I would also suggest trying the modem outside of your house if you get the chance to, again this can help us to pin point where things are going wrong.

Let us know how you get on :D

right, same signal all around the house (i'm on top floor of 3 story flats), 5 bar gprs, and occationaly 1 bar 3g/3g+/hsupa which drops constantly but is slightly more reliable outside my window or outside the house but still unreliable and slow. using a cable makes no difference, and i can't try my sim in another handset as it is locked to orange.

and i also have a lot of trouble connectoing to gprs even tho it says it's 5 bars

Hi Mark,

After a bit more digging, the site that should serve your postcode (Site 1792) is down and under investigation

I'm chasing this up though so if I get any more info I'll post back on here for you

The reference for this is 1825398

Hey, i'm still having the same problems, can't get a 3g signal and the gprs signal is awful and drops out constantly. I'm basically paying for something i can't use at the moment.

Hey duracell07,

I completely understand you frustration here. Ive checked that fault reference and we're awaiting access to the site so our engineers can fix. This was 5 days ago and there's been no update since.

I thiunk it's a case of red tape getting in the way here. I promise we're working as hard as we can to get this fixed.

Cheers,
