Problem Setting Up Dell E6400 With Vodafone Sim

Hi,
I am trying to set up a DELL E6400 laptop with an internal 5530 HSPA Mobile Broadband minicard. At first I had great problems getting Mobile connect to even see the card but I resolved that by switch off the fast boot option in the bios. The system now sees the card ok and detects the 'Vodafone UK 3G+' network at full strength. I have checked that the sim is data enabled by using it in a smartphone and all is well there. However when I try and connect with the Dell a progress bar briefly appears followed very quickly by a error dialog saying "Get profile failed". I suspect that this may be down to settings that I have not made somewhere but cannot find out where.

Any help would be greatfully recieved.

go to Control Panel > Admin Tools > Services
Make sure you can find both the "Telephony" and "Remote Access Connection Manager" services in that list, and that both are showing as "Started". If they don't, go into their properties and start them manually - then re-test the connection.

Great! why isnt this in the set up as a requirement!
