Problem Solved With iOS phone & Sure Signal :-)

Following one of the recent iOS updates on our iPhone 5s & 5c, we couldn't get reception from our Sure Signal V3 for 48 hours, despite all the lights being correct.

I reset everything, got lost/cut off in the Vodafone customer support phone system a couple of times, then got told to call back tomorrow when the tech guys are in.....blood starting to boil at this point.

My Wife was then chatting to a Vodafone support guy on an online portal, who then called me back.  He was excellent & knew exactly what he was talking about.  He said the Sure Signal wasn't smart enough to automatically download an update it needed to allow iOS 9 updated phones to connect properly.  He initiated the upload, I had to wait 2 hours then reset the Sure Signal 3 by holding down the reset button for 20 seconds.  Once the lights came back on correctly we had to restart our phones & hey presto we have our 3G island back in our house:-)

If you have the same issue I suggest you get onto the team who can sort it out.

It's a shame they can't text everyone who is using an iOS device who is also registered on a Sure Signal box - as a major mobile phone network provider they must have that sort of technology?

I have an SS3 and 3 iOS devices on iOS 9 and none of them have a problem connecting. Thus whatever your problem was, it isn't a general problem and thus there is no need for some kind of generic solution.

Might it depend on the software version of the Sure Signal box?

It only happened on Friday, so a while after iOS 9, but not that long after iOS9.02 don't know if that makes any difference?

Or maybe just a VSS crash, but the guy on the phone specifically told me that it was related to iOS 9.

Also does it only affect certain phone models, we have a 5s & 5c?

Maybe someone with real technical knowledge of the issue the guy mentioned can enlighten me?
