Re: BT network issues on suresignal

Is there any news on this? I connected our suresignal to the router on the evening of the 20th. It immediately showed up as active in the account on my vodafone. But I just can't get it to connect - Two amber lights and flashing power light. The router is upnp and I've even tried putting the SS in the demilitarized zone.

I contacted Vodfone help yesterday and they said all will be well 12 - 24 hours on. 18 hours on should I sit happy?

Getting the thing to work will be a huge boon ( and keep a couple of Vodafone customers) as we are in a dead spot here!

If this is any help to Vodafone techies after a reset (button down for 30 seconds, just to be sure) SS2 goes into a preamble with lights flashing and Draytek status lights show it is chatting over DSL. After 5 minutes or so activity diminishes and finally gets to a perfunctory flash every now and then and the SS2 continues to have both white LEDs flashing with red LED pemanately on.

Ah the 30 second hold of the reset button may be your down fall. Holding the button in for just 6 seconds carries out a different task.

You would have thought that Vodafone could explain the difference with each approach but of course that would be asking too much of them!

In composing my last message, there was a graphic displaying on the right hand side reading "Help and Support for Sure Signal". It was a hyperlink to:

Well the video does not exist!  Says it all really ..............

Now all working, many thanks for all your help.

Good to hear. Suggested administration tasks on the 2860.

  • Go to firewall >> DoS Defense
Enable and Select All although you may wish to untick Block trace route
    Press OK
  • Go to System Maintenance >> Mail alert
On the right hand side enable mail alert and complete the configuration questions asked
Use the Test Button and correct entries if necessary
    Press OK

Surprises me all the time of the attempted connections to my network that are made on a daily basis.

Congratulations @dalison and well done @trolleybus! Now I'm sick I didn't go for the Draytek!

Do you think it's 'just' the MTU setting that's the problem? If you could tell me what you did perhaps I can replicate it on the TP-LINK when I have a bored hour or two.

Well done again, glad someone has won this game!

I don't think it was the MTU setting as I had this set for 1500 with the original firmware on the 2860. It wasn't until I upgraded the firmware that the SS2 burst into life. It may be a red herring but the latest firmware is 8.2.3_BT !!! do you think the BT is significant. Trolleybus may be able to throw some light on this.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your patience.

The team investigating this have advised me that it may not necessarily be a BT fault.

Our servers were updated last night and the issue of registering new users, devices and connecting has now been fixed.

Please reset your Sure Signal and let me know if you're still having issues and what lights you're seeing on the unit.

@DaveCD nothing has changed here. Reset. Solid orange lights, flashing red one.

Trying to resister a new number to Sure Signal via My Vodafone still shows:

Sorry, there seems to be a problem.

We're working hard to fix the issue, so please try again later.: 500, 2004 - [2b2]

So no not fixed. Not fixed at all.

@Davecd no change here either, reset my SSV3, restarted my phone, have all the lights on that should be (lights 1,2,3, all solid) but no signal. This is been for 5 days. Stand outside my house and have 5 bars, walk into and they all disappear one by one. This has worked for the past two years via Infinity hub 5 and nothing has changed on the set up. The common thread with all these posts is the rumour of a BT/Vodafone inter working issue that nobody will admit.
