4: Newbie

My SS1 has stopped working.

It has worked faultlessly since I got it but 2 days ago started flashing lights 1 & 3, then 2 then repeating.

After a couple of reboots the lights are flashing 1 & 2, then 2, then 1, then repeat.

What is the point of the Tech Team?  Both Andrew and Lee have read my PMs asking for help on this post.  Andrew has replied to 5 other threads in the last hour and no-one has helped me!

Please will someone help me.  Can't you at least start by resetting at your end like you do for other users?

I mean I can see when my PMs have been read, I can see them posting to other threads but I don't hear a thing, all it takes is a quick message to say we'll look at it tomorrow, or anything at all - it is frustrating in the extreme!!

Hi profpugwash,

We do have this information but there are a number of things that can cause this light sequence.

The light sequence that you have given usually comes from either a new profile being downloaded, a reset being done, the Sure Signal setting up or a faulty unit if it continually cycles.

The registration all looks ok other than it not connecting to the server since 26 August 2012.

If it has been inactive for more than three months then it is possible that it’s no longer working.

As you’ve already tried a reset and this hasn’t fixed it, I’d try to de register and re register the Sure Signal.

If this still doesn’t work then the next step would be to look at a repair, however as it is older than 2 years old it means that it would be chargeable at £65.

James

Hi James,

Apologies but PaulE did post:

'I've not come across the lgith sequence you've mentioned before'

And I can only reply to the content of the messages that the Tech Team members post???

If you read my previous posts you will see that the SS1 hasn't been inactive for more than three months - it was working up until the end of last week which by my reckoning is less than a week.

I have now deregistered the box and re-registered, would you be so kind as to see if the box has connected to the servers this morning, it has updated its status to Registered on my account (although as I am at work it might possibly need a reboot which I will perform this evening).

Many thanks.
