Sky MER and SS

Recently took out an iPhone SIM only tariff with VF and at the same time ordered a SS box as I knew there was no VF 3G at home (only get Edge)

 

I should have read these forums before ordering really as my ISP is Sky and my D-LINK Sky router was changed over to MER the other week, which apparently wont work with the SS box?

 

Are VF working on this issue, considering Sky are in the process of changing over all their Broadband users from PPPoA to MER?

Hi guys,

 

I've just had word back from our Sure Signal engineers that the new Sky IP ranges mentioned on the last page have now been added to our firewall whitelist.

 

Can anyone on Sky who was in that IP range please let me know if your Sure Signal is now working. You'll be able to check your IP address here. Please note that you may just need to reset your Sure Signal beforehand.

Your IP is not the issue here as it's already in our whitelist.

 

Could you let me know the answers to the following questions?

Your Sure Signal serial number:

 

VSS Traceroute command

On a PC:
Click on Start and select Run
Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok
A black box will appear.
In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter
Paste the output of this command into your reply.

This will help us get the quickest possible resolution for you.

Mine is now working thank you, ended up changing the ethernet cable that came with the sure signal as it didn't fit correctly in the sky router. The sure signal now works perfectly. Surgested that other sure signal users also try changing the ethernet to see if it's the same issue.

Hi I have the same problem. I recently purchased a Sure Signal box and have Sky Broadband The SS box red light keeps flashing and the other lights glow orange. What should I do?

Not sure what happened but everything seems to be working fine now. I didn't actually do anything apart from leaving the box on for 24 hours, maybe thats the trick. Thanks.

I agree, this whole thing sucks, my SS worked perfectly for a couple of years, THE DAY I change to sky it goes off, this forum have me going through all sorts of stuff  saying its nothing to do with MER I have a "faulty SS" (and its out of warranty) so I should buy a new one for £100 - what a co-incedence this happened at same time I changed to sky? I no longer have a signal to use the phone at my place...
