Stuck with awful phone for ten more months

I'm on a 24month contract and have ten months left to go, I have a windows lumia phone and It is just awful, constant crashing, drops in reception, no support for any apps. I usually went for a Samsung but stupidly chose this  one. Is there anyway I can end this contract early or upgrade because I cannot use this phone for another 10 months. Hope someone can answer this question for me, thanks

You could ask to wind up the term to upgrade but that would entail paying the amount of months left to go. 

A contract has two dates. One is early upgrade and the other is end of term. 

Or sell your current phone and use the money to go towards another phone that's either locked to Vodafone or unlocked to all networks.

To increase the street value of the phone you could decide to have it unlocked to all networks.
