Yesterday the power tripped out on our downstairs sockets and the fault was traced to our Sure Signal V3 box. My husband unplugged it and plugged it back in, but there was no power. But could smell a burnt smell, we carefully took the screws out and opened the unit and see the attached photos of what we found.
As you can see this could of caused a fire, fortunately we were at home at the time. We have three phones on contract with Vodafone which have all been renewed recently for another 2 years. We rely on the Sure Signal as Vodafone signal in our area is poor. Has anyone had issues like this? Its really poor....

Hamlet:
You state you are on your third box.. Have you purchased any of these or have they been exchanged under warranty?
Please see my thread here:
The SureSignal has a 24 month warranty so you should not have had to pay for any replacement. If it is the case you have had to purchase, then I suggest you contact Vodafone and claim for each one that has failed plus interest and any other costs outlayed. If you have replaced any that are out of warranty, then you still have a claim for a refund.
Use customer services and escalate a compliant as you are entitled to claim your money back regardless of when you purchased them. If they refuse, make a formal complaint and write a letter stating they have 30 days to reimburse you prior to starting small claims court action to recover.
SureSignals have been failing since the day they launched and as such, all them should have lasted well beyond the 3 years or so maximum life some are today.
Also, please can you contact the BBC Watchdog programme using the link below on my signature and explain to them your experience with SureSignal, reliability, how they fail and that Vodafone took your money for a replacement plus your experience with Customer services.
It will only take a few minutes and if you have any photos, attach them to the email.
It is important to report all failed SureSignal V3 using the links below to:
