Sure Signal V3

We are 100% reliant on Sure Signal 3 working at our property in rural Wales ~ no Vodafone coverage. We successfully installed our Sure Signal a couple of months ago. We enjoyed superb mobile signal via Sure Signal. All came to an abrupt halt last week. Our Sure Signal now displays a fllashing red light (to the far left of the device) plus a solid orange "mobile" light (to the far right of the device).

I have trawled through the numerous posts on the topic ~ but am struggling to work out whether the Sure Signal has ceased to work or whether the internet connection (recently notably slowed) at our property in Wales is at fault.

I am posting this from our Birmingham address ~ having plugged in the Sure Signal with a fully functioning internet speed ~ still the same lights. Have tried re-booting several times ~ but all with the same result.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Cheers

John

Hello @Nedosharry

There is a minimum speeds required for the Sure Signal.

If more ore devices are connected then a higher speed is needed.

Some me info on this plus other FAQs in What-do-I-need-for-a-Vodafone-Sure-Signal.

Appreciate you been looking at resolving this.

Can I ask if you've seen this troubleshooting thread.

One section named 'Issue Not listed' allows a person to run a traceroute and post your results here for the Vodafone Tech team to look over.

Thanks Lee

Have checked download speed here in B'ham ~ 33ms + upload.32mbps. I guess that  simply plugging in in B'ham will not determine whther its a faulty Sure Signal box or a problem with a slow internet in Wales?

Will take the SureSignal back with me to Wales on Tuesday and run the same tests.

Have to say that I am wondering why I ever switched to Vodafone in the 1st place...our EE account had an app that you simply switched on when at homs in Wales & hey presto calls diverted via internet connection. Never failed....& it didnt cost the purchase preice of a Sure Signal Box!

Cheers

John

You're welcome.

Vodafone have Calling Over Wifi for people on eligible tariff and phones.

Vodafone and Calling over wifi.

And maybe Vodafone should stop using it as a method of twisting peoples arms into upgrades and new contracts in order to use what should be a basic right.... a decent and workable signal regardless of how it is provided.

WiFi Calling has been available since at least the S5 Samsung,

but no "Sir, in order to use it, you need a new phone"!!

Why should people have to upgrade in order to use a signal and make calls when many handsets support this feature, yet Vodafone refuse to roll out to as many as possible..

Contact BBC Watchdog and tell them Vodafone refuse to enable WiFi calling on older handsets, yet happy to sell you a shiny new one with it enabled...
