I bought a sure signal 2nd hand but it needs to be deregistered. I dont have the original number that was registered with the device as bought it from a car boot sale. The serial is 40123264380. Please can you let me know how to unregister the device.

Hello Rabstar

Due to data protection, only the original owner who has the device registered to their account can get the Sure Signal deregistered.

If you cannot contact the original owner, you will unable to register the Sure Signal to your account.

There are some previous threads on the forum which will confirm the answer.

If Vodafone accessed the account holders information without permission and made contact, Vodafone would be in severe breech of data protection.

If you do not know who the original owner is you will be unable to use the device.  If you purchase a Sure Signal second hand, you have to make sure it is deregistered.

I have managed to get hold of the seller via facebook and they said they dont think they registered it but I have their mobile number anyway just incase it was done in store. Is there anyway to check if it has been registered?

Hi Rabstar,

The only way to check if it's already registered is to try and register it on your online account - if it's previously registered you'll get an error message which means the original owner will need to contact us - if it registers ok then you're good to go :smileywink:
