Daverafferty,

I think we have identified the issue. This is the Vodafone UK community. We are only able to help Vodafone Uk customers.

You should have more luck posting your query on the Vodafone IE community

Very disappointed in Vodafone whom I have been with many year especially in their customer service staff regarding the sure signal. When speaking to the you get the feeling that you are being a pest. Now been without a signal off and on for about 2 weeks I total it totally unacceptable as I run a business from my home I have to drive out to get a signal which is a a pain and god only knows how many customers I have lost with no calls getting through.
Come on vodapsone was promised this back on Monday now Thursday what the hell are you doing wouldn't mind if you kept us updated as you promised to do so via my land line. Perhaps as i am not able to use my phone I should cancel my direct debit until it's fixed

@Cameron29 I would strongly advise against cancellation of your direct debit. It will only cause more trouble for you in that your service will eventually be suspended for non payment which may result in a mark against your credit file with the same.

I can't see any previous posts form yourself relating to this issue so it may be worth following the steps in the Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread. to see if this resolved youre problem.,
If you are still experiencing the issue having completed these steps, post the template with your answers here and the team can look into this further.

Thanks for your advise. I have not stoped my Direct Debit.

However find your further comments very condesending do you think I would bother to phone Vodofone if I had not already tried all the trouble shooting on the sure signal. All people are not stupid.

This was a sure signal proble and was advised this by vodofone on three different occasions.

Sure signal came back on 2 days after my post.

Hi @Cameron29

Having no knowledge of the background to your issues I didn't know what you had and hadn't tried with customer service. I did take steps to look for any previous posts you may have made under this username on the eForum of which there were none. At this point I determined that the best course of action was to refer you to the eForum troubleshooting guide. I was unaware that you had already completed this as you made no reference to it in your original post.

At no point did i infer that you were, or anyone else was 'stupid', I simply refered you to an available resource, as I do with everyone that comes on here with a VSS issue.

It's good to hear your SureSignal is now working as you would expect, I hope you don't have any more issues.

I have a verison 2 Sure Signal that is conect to a BT Hub Router (not fibre) its definately on the network but all i ever get is the power light on and other two lights flashing. It used to work perfectly on mu old Netgear router but i could never get it to work with my TalkTalk one, and having just wsitched to BT I thought i would give it another go. Does it need re-syncing, if so the serial number is 40120115932.

thanks

Hi @ChrisB1965,

There are compatibility issues with the HomeHub 3 so your Sure Signal may not work correctly if you're using this router.

I'd recommend using it on your old router or asking BT to supply a newer version of the Home Hub.

Thanks,

Matt B

I have been using Sure Signal for 2 years.  I updated to Plusnet Fibre Broadband, Sue Signal will not work with the Plusnet Technicolor TG582 router until the router has been configured.  Neither Vodafone of Plusnet technical support can sort the problem however I fould this excelllent site - see link below;

portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Technicolor/TG582n_Technicolor/Vodafone_Sure_Signal.htm

You need to be fairly technical to follow these instructions.  I was able to set up a static IP address and portforward the ports as required.  I then re booted my Sure Signal V2 box by holding reset for 30 seconds and it all works. I now have 38mb/s broadband and SureSignal.  For the record registering and logging in to this Forum is very frustrating.  I can only add this post as a reply to a existing thread.  I would like to start a new thread Sure Signal V2 now working on Plusnet.

Portforward.com is a fantastic site, the team on here usually recommend it!
just wanted to add though that I have the exact same setup, plusnet fibre with the Technicolor router and a VSS2 and I never had to do any manual setup.
What worked for me was a resync and full reset of the device and it did the rest.

One thing to watch out for, I only say this as it got me, if your VSS is placed too close to the router it kills the WiFi. It knocked my internet speed down from ~60Mbps to about 10Mbps, only noticeable in a speed test but still degrades the wireless performance. I plan on changing routers when I can afford to as the wireless in the Technicolor isn't great but does the job for now.

Hi Nabs,

Thank you for the tip about moving the SureSignal box away from my Router.  This did improve the speed of the Wifi from 12MB/Sec to 35 MB/Sec.

I cannot believe how bad Vodafone's technical team are so bad with customer service. I have a problem with my Sure Signal that has been working fine for the last 4 years and suddenly has stopped working. I rang the technical team and went through all the tests but nothing worked so I was asked to take my sure signal box to a neighbour etc. to test it on their internet line!! I have explained that is not possible could I take it to a local store to be tested but have been told it is not possible so I asked what can Vodafone do to help me and was basically told if I want to hear the technical advisor say take it to a store then she would tell me that, by the way her name is Norma and she told me she is a senior technical advisor. I asked if I could pay for a new box but was advised that it might not work as my download speed on broadband is slow and Vodafone no longer stock the older type boxes. I am not asking for anything free as I am happy to pay for whatever I need but I am just asking for a little help. I have no confidence in the technical team as I had one of them (didn’t get his name) hang up on me, I was not being rude or shouting was just asking for help as I cannot use my phone at home. Sorry Vodafone I cannot believe how badly you treat customers, would anyone from Vodafone like to reply before I decide to cancel the 4 contracts my family have with you.
