Once again for perhaps the tenth time this summer, my SS box (original, 14 months old) has dropped out completely. This posting proves that my broadband signal is fine, It had been down since 1pm and it is nearly midnight now.
Often on a Saturday it fails for the whole day.
The system is SO unreliable it is worse than useless!
I will soon go back to O2 with no 3G or signal downstairs, but at least I will get reliable texts.
Has anyone any ideas??
Vogafone staff???

Hi pryland,
Interesting that you mention it's on saturdays when this occuurs more often, Does it also happen often in the evenings during the week?Theses are generally busier times of the day for internet connections and as such you can notice an, often large, drop in performance.
It sounds like your broadband line is dropping below the minimum requirments or the SureSignal hence the device ceases to work.
Are you able to post some speed test results taken at the times at which the SureSignal falls over?
try speedtest.net, seems to give the most reliable results.

You might think this, but if true then the SS box needs more bandwidth than BBC IPlayer!!!
Iplayer is fine.
Just done speed test and 4 tries give 3,8 to 5,3 mbps
Once again no SS during the whole of today, Saturday.
Perfect Broadband, no phone signal.

Still no 3G signal.
The worst thing about all this is the utterly useless customer service of Vodafone.
I have spent hours in the past going round in circles between online and telephone customer service.
They promised to get an expert to phone me on a saturday to sort out the diagnostics, but.........NO CALL AND NO APOLOGY!

Hi pryland,
I’ve unmarked the other post as the solution for you.
Your Sure Signal connected to our servers this morning at 03:23, are you still seeing the dropped connections?
In case you are, I’ve asked for the latest version of firmware to be sent out to your device.
The process can take up to 24 hours and during this time, don’t reset or unplug the unit.
Let me know how you go on.
Cheers,
Andrew

Speedtest.net does not seem to work. It keeps transferring me to adverts and when i go back to it it shows a map of the world and nothing happens.
CNet speedtest always works. It have an average of 4.5gbps yesterday and faster today, but no other info. I do not understand the other stuff you refer to.
Last test just now was 6.2gbps and then the SS box has dropped out again.

Hi pryland,
I can see where the confusion has come in here. The speedtest.net site had adverts that appear as if they are the actual test it'self.
Can you click the begin test button, as show below.
You should get a result screen like this
it's this ping value that we are looking for.:smileyhappy:
