  • Power: Flashing
  • Internet: Solid Orange
  • In Service: Off
  • In Use: Off

Cause

This light sequence indicates the Sure Signal's not active and it has been unable to authenticate on the Vodafone network

Troubleshooting

Please restart your Sure Signal. If the symptoms continue please add the following details to this thread:

  • Your speed test results from here
  • Your ping test results from here
  • Your external IP address from here
  • Your Sure Signal serial number
  • The results of a traceroute

Traceroute command:

On a PC:

  1. Click on Start and select Run
  2. Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok
  3. A black box will appear
  4. In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter
  5. Paste the output of this command into your reply

On a Mac:

  1. Open Terminal (Applications, Utilities)

... and Sure Signal needs a 'service status' page.  Looked high and low this morning and very surprised that this doesn't exist for such a critical service.

Hi Tomtully321.

So we can check the Sure Signal isn't faulty, please try using a different connection such as at a friend or family members.

Internet provider: BT

VSS3 always left on.  It has been working fine for a month at least. I have turned it off & on again, reset it but still just get flashing red + solid orange internet lights.

Thanks,

Hi. I note you are using BT Infinity. Make sure you use the BT HomeHub 5 as it works well with VSS3. If you have BTHH3 replace it.

Hi,

My VSS has been working fine. We had a powercut last night due to thunderstorms and today I cannot get the VSS to work. The powerlight is flashing and the second light is orange. Every now and then it changes to powerlight solid, and second light slowly flashing white.

Not sure if it's a huge coincidence but not long after posting on the forum the VSS started working!

If someone helped - thanks!
