Vodafone App not Updating

The App last refreshed at 09:09 on Tuesday 13th September 2016. It is now 08:07 on Friday 16th September 2016. This means that I have absolutely no idea of how many minutes I have left this month. I have a bundle of 600 minutes a month and 500mb of data. If I go over these limits, the charges are astromonical. I detest this app as the font informing you of when the app last refreshed is very tiny and I nearly miss seeing this message.

The app is always slow to update, especially in the crucial last 2 days of the contractual month, which puts me at risk of going "out of bundle" on minutes and data. Rebooting my phone has no effect; I just cannot persuade this app to update itself effectively. I feel very badly treated by Vodafone, especially when the signal is so poor that it is impossible to browse the internet when I am not logged on to wifi.

Does anyone else have issues with this dreadful app?

Hi @jx_geol

I'm disappointed to hear that you're unhappy with the app. Have you tried uninstalling it, and reinstalling to see if this offers any improvement?

Do you find that you have the same issues when checking your My Vodafone account online?

Thanks,

Sarah

Hullo Sarah and thanks for your reply.

Sadly, uninstalling and reinstalling the My Vodafone app has no effect, nor does rebooting my phone or switching between wifi and mobile data. At present, the last refresh time remains stubbornly at 09:24 in the morning of Friday, 16th September 2016. It is now 23:15 BST on Sunday 18th September 2016. I cannot log on to the My Vodafone online as it tells me my password and log on details are "not recognised".

I have just lost all the details of a previous post to this forum as Vodafone interrupted me with yet another useless survey and would not let me return to my post.

I am going to switch to "EE". Every aspect of Vodafone (signal, cost and service) is hopeless, in my opinion.

Hello @jx_geol

I completely understand your frustration and distress at this.

The best way forward is to speak with our Live Chat through this link and our team will look into this problem with the app and refresh your account.

Sarah - take a look at the comments on the My Vodafone app in the Google store. It seems that I am not the only customer experiencing problems with the app not updating. Hundreds of messages - all saying the same thing. What is wrong with this app? Does Vodafone not care? Does Vodafone deliberately want us all to incur expensive out of bundle charges?

I did manage to log on to the My Vodafone website (after a lot of hassle with Vodafone texting a verification code) but it most unhelpfully tells me have 330 minutes left, but does not tell me when this was last updated and also says it could be 72 hours out of date. So I am still none the wiser and dare not use my phone again until Vodafone gets its act together.

The app is still not updating. It is now 21:28BST on Monday 19th September 2016 and the app last refreshed at 09:24BST on Friday 16th September 2016. I have had to stop using my phone as I have absolutely no idea of how many minutes or data I have left this month. A very expensive contract when I cannot even use my phone. If this carries on, I am going to demand a refund. I have had no texts or messages from Vodafone to apologise for this deplorable situation. Shocking lack of customer service or care.

Hmm.  Same problem here on iPhone.

App last updated two days ago.  No idea how much data I have left.

Do any of Vodafone's back-end systems work properly?!

Hi @displaced

Is this issue now resolved?

Thanks,

Sarah

Unfortunately not.

I've reinstalled the app, but now just get a 'we're having a few technical difficulties' message.

Hi @displaced

I will PM you with further details on this.

Thanks,

Sarah
