My Vodafone Smart Platinum 7 keeps breaking on me.
The first time the glass on the back spontaniously shattered. Then it kept restarting itself, before completly dying (Taking all my photos with it) This cost me £100 repair because I couldnt proove I hadn't dropped the phone and broken the glass.
After Paying the £100 repair for my phone it now has a faulty touch screen which I took in for repair and they claimed to have fixed.
But now again the touch screen has broken.
I'm now in spain for 2 months with a broken phone. I've had my phone for 12 months and its broken 4 times on me and I have another 12 months left on my contract. Considering i'm paying a lot for the phone Im very unhappy that the phone keeps breaking on me. The contract was for a working phone, which mine is not, so I was wondering if anyones knows if there was anything I could do to get an early upgrade or change my phone without having to pay an enormous fee?

Hi @evely5
I'm not surprised you've lost confidence in the phone.
The phone has a 24 month manufacturing warranty but it anything resembles issues caused via a drop or water damage then any work will be charged for but they do guarantee this work..
You could look.at an early upgrade and if relevant to you then a Flexi-Upgrades/What-s-the-difference-between-Flexible-upgrades-and-Flexi-upgrades.
Or buy a phone separately and sell the one you have as a non working model.
Perhaps choose another brand of phone.
While in Spain if you wish to use your sim then perhaps look at a cheap unlocked mobile phone.

Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra 512gb.

The bad news is that although you pay for the phone as well as the airtime, the phone itself does not form any part of your contract. So, sadly, it is meaningless to say that "the contract was for a working phone" - it wasn't, the contract was and is only for the airtime. No network will undertake a contractual obligation to supply you with a working handset for the duration of your contract.
The good news is.... well there isn't a huge amount, but at least the phone is your property from day 1 so if it can be persuaded to work for a while you can flog it on Ebay and buy a better one. And you've learned not to go for Vodafone's own brand.
