Following earlier threads on this topic, I have tried absolutely everything that has been suggested in previous postings in more than one thread on this topic in this Forum as a solution to the problem of failure to connect (3G and GPRS) using a vodafone k3565 mobile internet usb stick and I'm getting really discouraged!!
I obtained a new SIM for PAYG after having had a contract dongle with a different SIM for 12 months. Using this new SIM in my existing Huwaei dongle (as above). I am using the same USB stick as I had previously for PAYG BUT I am simply unable to connect and get the above error message time and again. I have completely uninstalled the previous version of Mobile Connect s/w installed on my machine (MS XP Home) and even deleted the Vodafone folder in Registry, installed the latest version of MC s/w, tried assigning a different COM port, etc. etc and have got absolutely NOWHERE. This has been going on nearly a week now!!
One odd thing I noticed - in the Manage Devices view, the stick is identified sometimes as "HUAWEI Mobile Connect - 3G Modem" and sometimes as "E160X" - it seems to change its mind as to the device identity....
PLEASE help - I am getting desperate!!

What APN do you have set in VMC?
Possibly old value for contract is still set (internet), in which case you need to set
it to that needed for your payg?

Duuuh - prepaid is the same as pay as you go I guess, so it looks as if this APN setting is OK?
