I have had a similar problem, on my Acer Aspire laptop, running XP. I had .net 2, 3, and 3.5 installed. I uninstalled 3.5 and got the dongle working. It appears that Net 3.0 is required. Could you confirm this. I have heard responses relating to "system not communicating with Windows". I don't understand what that's supposed to mean. Where the hardware is concerned, you have to have drivers compatable with the OS. With applications, you have to communicate between the app and OS, in a way they, mutually, understand. Especially, with an OS like Windows, the application has to conform to the Windows communication.

I have experimented with Orange, T-Mobile, and 3 mobile broadband dongles, in both Windows and Linux. I found difficulty with the Vodafone, only.

Thanks for the email - I fixed this by going to Windows update and updating the .NET framework. The latest VMC now works with it, all fine.

Thanks again

Hello,
...\Opco\26202 Germany\26202.xml Program error!

I have the same problem after a company software update to .net Framework 3.5 SP1.
Since this software runs on my laptop this message box appears.
So I can definitely say the problem courses this version of .net framework.

Before the company software update was installed the vodofone mobile software works with following versions of .net framework:
.net Framework 1.1.
.net Framework 2.0 SP2
.net Framework 3.0 SP2

Have you any ideas how i can solve this problem?
or make a new version of your mobile software :) )
becouse I must use .net framework 3.5

Hi holger,

Welcome, welcome to our little corner of the world.

Can I ask whast your OS is please? Can I also ask what version of VMC you are using?

The reason I ask is that version 9.2.5 specifically requires Microsoft's .NetFramework 2.0 and so you may benefit from uninstalling the current version, and reinstalling the latest version of VMC, which is 9.3 and is available from here.

Let me know how you get on.

Cheers,

VMC:9.2.4.7868
OS:MS XP SP2

So I deinstalled .net Framework 3.5 SP1 - and now it works again - until the next software update at my company.

When I get new problems with other software because 3.5 SP 1 is missing, then I try to install the new version of VMC.

Hi all
Many thanks for all the advice, I have un-installed .net 3.5 SP1 from my ACER laptop and my Vodafone mobile connect software now works. I have VMC 9.3.6.12095 installed and when I reinstalled .net 3.5 it again gave the error mesage. I am now running with .net 3.5 removed and hopefully future versions of either VMC or .net will overcome this conflict. What is strange is my other PC's have .net 3.5 installed and they work fine.

I too have the 23415.XML error message. Installing the latest VMC software 9.3.6.12095 makes no difference but uninstalling net Framework 3.5 SP1 allows VMC to work. When will there be a proper fix ?

Hi alanjh,

Since we've only just learned of this issue it will obviously take a while to draft a new software release, but I have escalated this to our modem people and will keep you updated with any new information as I receive it :)
