I have posted this into off topic as I can not see any reference to Vodafone Home phone and Broadband.
I have install the router and all is working but there one thing that is missing from the setting of the VDSL router that being a function to turn off DHCP, I have for the pasted 10 year had my own network running at home with a fully working server that is my DHCP & DNS server but for the first time in history I have just sign up for 18 month and got a bloody router that has no function in the GUI settings pages to turn OFF the DHCP server. So for now I will have to wait for 18 months before I can change ISP. thanks vodafone tech team for missing this one. If there is anyone out there that can offer me a firmware update to give me the function to turn OFF DHCP then please post it.

Signed up today over the phone, repeatedly stated that I need to be able to use my own device. Said it was all fine after speaking to technical support and that I should get the username/password in the box with my vodafone router? Not sure if that's the case but I did say on the phone if I can't use my own router I won't be signing up

Having been following this thread for ages I have one question! How did the router get the username/password initially? I collected my router from my local Vodafone shop and they just gave me the next one in the cupboard. It's possible the barcode on the router box had a link to the password that was stored and Vodafone updated their systems as it was scanned. Interestingly, before my TalkTalk got turned off my Vodafone router worked with it but that might have been more to do with TalkTalk not being bothered about the username/password. There could be a generic combination that isn't given out and hard coded in, as well as an individual one that works just for you that is given out when you ask.

Call their bluff - ask to see a copy of the policy.
I was intending to write (on paper - as there seems to be no official way of doing this otherwise!) and keep pushing until I had an official answer from someone who is qualified to make those kinds of decisions. If the answer was that they really will not officially give out credentials, then I was going to cancel as I was still within the 14 day "cool off" period.
Fortunately, in my case, I got in touch with someone who knew what they were talking about on the third attempt.
From the "big picture" perspective, they would be shooting themselves in metaphorical foot if they officially won't give out credentials. We're the guys who *don't* cause support teams any problems - all they are doing (and they are doing it now) is giving themselves a bad reputation, and putting off potential new joiners who want to be able to use their own kit.
Ideally, someone from Vodafone (at the appropriate level) should post to this thread and clear up the confusion.
Answer, yes: Everyone is happy, and people querying can point the help desk people to this thread and state that "Mr X, UK tech manager or whatever" says it's officially ok to give people their credentials.
Answer, no: Potential new customers can at least decide not to join, and pick a more enlightened ISP.

Likewise. They told me when ording it would be included with the router so if it's not I'll be complaining

Good luck with even receiving your router!
I'm on my second week after ordering and no sign of it. Vodafone keep uselessly telling me it's on the way with no tracking information whatsoever.
Tomorrow's the last day I can contact BT to prevent cancellation, so if it's not here today or first thing tomorrow I'll be cancelling the Vodafone order and staying with BT.
Complete and utter shambles.
