I have posted this into off topic as I can not see any reference to Vodafone Home phone and Broadband.
I have install the router and all is working but there one thing that is missing from the setting of the VDSL router that being a function to turn off DHCP, I have for the pasted 10 year had my own network running at home with a fully working server that is my DHCP & DNS server but for the first time in history I have just sign up for 18 month and got a bloody router that has no function in the GUI settings pages to turn OFF the DHCP server. So for now I will have to wait for 18 months before I can change ISP. thanks vodafone tech team for missing this one. If there is anyone out there that can offer me a firmware update to give me the function to turn OFF DHCP then please post it.

For those having issues being quoted "It's Against the Terms and Conditions" I asked to point out what clause and paragraph this was mentioned in (with a copy of them open in front of me). After they couldn't provide me with that information I then got my username and password on the proviso that they would only provide support with the vodafone router

seems they stopped giving those logins and passwords out. They say if they did it would put their jobs at risk. I was on the chat and on the phone today and spent a lot of time trying to get those. Speaking to managers and rendering them speechless with counterarguments didn't help either. Mentioning the T&Cs and how it didn't say anything in it did nothing either. Seems their stupid "business decision" as it was called was propagated to the employees with a threat of firing them if they provide those details..
I'm really pi**ed off, it looks like I was just 3 weeks too late to get my credentials.
Anyone know of a good way to cancel this ##~## contract without paying early cancellation fee?

How long have you been with them. Also try ringing then again and see if you get to speak with someone else.

Hi, unfortunately I've been with them for a while so it's way past the cool off period. I've recently upgraded to the fibre option though, so that cool off period is still in play. The upside is that the price is the same and the internet will be faster, the downside is the contract length will again be 18 months, starting in a few days. So I don't know whether to go ahead with this or cancel this upgrade and suffer with voda for only 6 more months.
As to calling someone else I doubt it will help at this point. The guys i spoke to were seriously afraid about their jobs. Seems that voda put out a new policy for their employees threatening them with disciplinary action if they give those details out.
I will write a complaint letter though, about how I think their policies are unfair and ridiculous, and how their equipment is a laughing stock. I hope that if they get enough complaints they might change their policies, and soon too 😜
The thing is I didn't really need to change much in the router settings up to this point. But now that I actually need to configure some stuff I can't do it ;/ At least with previous ISPs the routers they provided gave me more freedom to set things up as I need them.

Hi, What are the settings that you need to change and what firmware is your router on as I know that the new updated version has more setting/options available.

the firmware version I have at the moment is 5.4.8.1.271.1.59. And this is the most up to date one. And I've notices some differences as I remember some time ago when I was changing some settings it looked slightly different. I was trying to forward some ports and do other bits and bobs but to no avail.
Anyway the thing is at the moment I can live with the stuff I can't change but in the future I might need a little more freedom to set stuff up as I want, but with the limited funcionality of this router it might be a nightmare. Not to mention that it's a bit crappy in general compared to what's available out there. Hopefully they change their policies and I will be albe to rig up something better in the near future. I mainly need a bigger control over setting for gaming but also for some other networking stuff that I do as a hobby.

I joined vodafone recently. Was connected on Monday 10 October, cancelled today as these restrictions are just pathetic.

Hi all. I have been with vodafone broadband for about 6 months and becoming increasingly frustrated with the router. The main problem is its inability to locate and connect to my airplay devices. I believe there may be a problem with different devices being on different networks, eg. Ethernet v wireless, our 2.4 v 5 ghz and I have no possibility to control the latter. I have finally reached the conclusion I must try to tether another router and I believe the Airport Extreme will do the job. However, I also think i have to turn of the wireless function in the Vodafone router and i have no idea how to do this. Is there anyone with Vodafone/Airport Extreme experience that can give me some simple steps. I am hoping to pick something up reasonably priced on eBay, 4th gen or later. Thank you!

Well Thats me not joining then I was interested but after them stopping giving out the useraname details I will pass on vodafone until they change their stance

Hi, I had the same problem and decided not to use the Wi-Fi from the Router. But I still use the router for the WAN connection (even if it's pretty mediocre with a bad firewall). I have several network zones, and they all work with Airplay and other streaming services, apart from when I connect the source to the zone I have from the Router's Wi-Fi
Pretty easy to turn off the Wi-Fi in the router
In "Expert Mode", Wi-Fi tab, General settings, top of page. Just turn off "WiFi network" radio button. You can also allow to turn it off on the router itself, just activate the radio button below the one I mentioned above: "Enable Wi-Fi On/Off button on Vodafone Connect router"
And then buy an Access Point to connect with an Ethernet cable to the built-in Switch (4 Ethernet ports)
Good Luck!
