Vodafone has been taking money from my account without permission - will go to Ofcom if not resolved

It has recently come to my attention that Vodafone have been charging stealing from me since 2015 for an internet dongle on top of my mobile phone bill.

At no time have I ever asked for, nor authorised an internet dongle to be added to my account. According to Vodafone staff there are notes on the account saying this is a “workaround” for when I asked for a data cap.

I contacted Vodafone customer services and informed them I had never asked for nor authorised this dongle and for it to be removed and any monies deducted from my account to be refunded.

After speaking with three different Vodafone representatives they are maintaining that because I did not notice my bill being higher, this is my own fault and a refund will not be issued.

Now, Vodafone have failed to produce a contract either written or verbal to verify their right to take these fees every month.

Vodafone have no proof of contract, and I have never asked for nor authorised this so as far as I am concerned Vodafone have committed theft.

Nargis Parihar from your Specialist Care team offered me a “good-will gesture” but made it clear she did not have to do anything for me as this is my own fault.

This is my final attempt at resolving this issue before going to Ofcom.

Considering how Vodafone have previously been in hot-water for incorrect billing of customers I thought this matter would now be handled appropriately. Evidently, I was wrong.

If I do not have a full refund plus compensation for wasting my time trying to resolve this issue within the next 72 working hours I will be escalating this matter.

Regards.
